Lord Cao Pi watched with interest as Lu Xiang set the men about there morning work out. He nodded with approval at the strength build exercises. His troops needed to be able to march all day and still have the strength to be able to fight at the end of it, he expected no less of himself, his generals or staff.
"Very good, whats next for them." Cao Pi said wondering what Lu Xiang had on his mind. No doubt it would be intense after all his eagle corps where some of the finest solders in the Wei army. He saw some in fact a lot of them men were watching him closely. He gave no sign that he noticed it was the sort of thing a man in his position got used to quickly. Besides that he was a cold man and what these men thought of him was irrelevant as long as they served his will. He knew some commanders tried to bond with each and everyone of there men but it was not something he was interested in. He only gave praise to men who excelled rather than just those who did what was expected, only from them would come the officers.

Xiang smiled as the slow movers were punished by having his foot placed upon their backs making there work harder. There was no room for failure within the army of Wei, if you did the work and suceeded you would go far.. but slackers would be made into men. The final man finished his press ups and they all returned to their feet promptly. With the warm up complete he moved onto something a little more.. interesting.
Endurance had been testing and they were up to date..well atleast most. Now they would have to fight against eachother. Real life opponents, everyone would be paired up against someone of their skill or higher due to cheating of choosing who to pair up with. Xiang wanted fair 1 on 1's with first blood. He didn't wish for anyone to die.. but accidents happened. He smiled as the men moved from the middle of the dojo and the men in the middle moved to the sides suspecting what was going to happen.
The first battle was the newcomer vs. one of the all-time favourites and highly respected of the recruits a name named Liu Zhen. The man was strong, tough and didn't slack he would be a tough man to beat. The gong sounded as the two men were thrown into battle.

"Wow Wow Wow!! Wait wait!" a Voice from behind said, a young man with a crown on his head and long strategic clothing came in with one sword on his belt "Take it easy on the Guy Master Xiang..." he sighed and turned at Cao Pi.
Xiu Lao was walking with Cao Pi around here before Cao pi Came himself here, so Lao greeted him again "Allow me My lord, shall I Test this mans might with my own Wits?" he said bowing gently and and turned at the new man, he pulled his sword and flipped it around his arm twice.
"Now that your Wormed up I guess you Should be Ready for this..." Lao said preparing to take the man in an equal skills, not underestimating him but he is trying to compere his wits.

Xiang moved into the center to referee the battle, signalling for the other man to sit down. It would be even more of a test now for the newcomer. He was going to be tested by Lao himself. The man wasn't physically strong, but he had wits and loyalty. It would seem as though Lord Cao Pi was going to get a show today. Xiang stood in the middle first looking at the newcomer, to check if he was ready, holding his spear. The blade wasn't great but it looked reliable and therefore could prove useful. He then turned his head to look back on Lao, the short man was holding a sword.. practical but perhaps not the best match up to fight a man with a spear. He nodded his head and raised his hands before slamming them downwards to begin the battle.

(I'll assume that I'm the newcomer...)
Taking a nearby spear that was resting on the wall, Taixun readied himself to face the opponent. He looked around his own age, but as Taixun had learned over the years, that wasn't a factor to be underestimated on. Twirling his spear, he performed a basic thrust, which was repelled easily by the opponenet. Using the momentum of the parry, Taixun sidestepped swiftly and started a series of random swings.

Lao kept back away from the man, sometimes he uses his sword to block the attack, for half a minute the man was trying but what that for? making a plan? however Lao suddenly stepped aside waiting for the man to make another Random swift from his spear "Can you do it Faster?" he asked him.

Looking up, Taixun replied to the sudden question: "Maybe," he said as he sidejumped a few times, circling the opponent, who seemed extremely calm contrasting to Taixun's agressive and nervous state. As a method to relax himself for a moment, he started twirling his spear in front of him, around and around among his fingers, waiting for the opponent's next strike and planning for his own.

Lu Xiang smiled as he watched the battle pick up a little, it was just a little scrap at the moment. He anticipated some violence.. perhaps some blood. Lao had the advantage of experience and learning from the battlefield. Taixun however was good with the spear, able.. not a master yet but he could be highly useful. Perhaps under the apprenticeship of a spearmaster like Liao Wei he could prove to become a fierce general of the Wei army.

Cao Pi nodded as he watched Xiu Lao go to test this new man himself. It was typical of the young commander he was always full of energy and eager to prove himself both to himself and those around him. It was of the things that ranked him above the other junior commanders in the army. At the moment he would have said Lao had a slight advantage but things had bearly began and he would not count the new commer out. He walked to stand by his brother as they watched the fight.
"It seemes this will be a fight to remember brother." He said as his eyes flashed from blow to contered blow. Wen Ji stood close on his other side just in case, it never did to let down your guard in case of Wu assasins.

Lao Kept Evading it trying to figure out what was the plan of attack of this Man, but he couldn't evade his attacks forever, his sleeve has been cut but the spear, so Lao Decided to end it now.
Grabbing his sword with one hand and waiting for another strike, he stepped on his side and turned his body giving the Spear that passed him his whole back, with his free hand he reached it to Grasp the Pole of the Spear, he warred it like a snake with his hand holding it tightly trying not to make the man move it aside or pull it back.
then he aimed his sword toward the man and moved toward him, his arm that held the spear slides with him as he held it, btu when he was close enough he let the spear go freeing it from his hand and placed the sword on the mans Chin.
Lao was breathing in and out in front of the man as he aimed his sword "Good, but in battle you had to think of a plan to attack before your opponent attacks you." he said and pulled his sword back standing tall, he flipped his sword around before putting it on his belt.
"It doesn't matter what weapon you use, because its just a Tool, the real power lies within your spirit and not the size of your weapon." he said and turned at Xiang "I see that I have done my Part here now, but I will wait for this man to beat me one day... Train him well Master Xiang." he said before bowing to them all and then started to walk to Cao Pi, where he stopped besides him.

Xiang nodded at the man, the newcoming had alot of potential. Xiang could perhaps take him under wing for a while and teach the man the ropes, it couldn't hurt. Plus to watch Lao get beat badly by someone other them himself would be priceless. He pondered for a few seconds before returning the middle of the dojo.
"A lap round the city now!"
He said as he signaled the men to get warmed up again. Before he watched the newcomer, gripping him on the shoulder.
"I have something a little better for you.."
He said laughing. The man hadn't been lying last night and he had proven himself infront of his lord. Xiang fed on talent and loved making boys into men, toughening them up through strict training courses.
"Tell me how much do you want to be a warrior?"
He asked the young man as he pulled out two apples out of his pouch for breakfast, throwing one to the man who deserved it and taking a bite out of one himself.

Xiang remembered when he took up the sword for the first time, it was a wooden one. His mother spent many months making it for him. It never left his side, he ran around the villiage pretending to cut down hundreds of men. He sighed remembering how his family was brutally murdered while he was away from home.
"Good."
He muttered. It was up to him to suceed, Xiang could only train. If he was destined to become a great warrior it was inside of him already. Xiang took another bite out of the apple before heading into the side room and handing the man a slightly more fiercer blade, far stronger and heavier. He would get him something personalized once they were back in Xia Pi but for now the blade would do.

Taixun bowed slightly as he received the heavy sword, being careful not to drop it. It was a far better replacement for his original weapon, which was just a common item, rusty, and probably still sitting in the prison. Stepping into the middle of the room, he spun it around a few times, and throwing the finished apple core into the air, sliced through it with a light swing. This spear felt different...

Xiang nodded his head at man, his thanks weren't needed. He was a servant now, not a floorscrubbing, footlicking one but a man who fought to defend and protect. If he could prove hiself alongside Xiang his feats was raise him higher and eventually he could become a general or an officer or something truely amazing.
"We'll leave for Xia Pi in the morning."
He said smiling at the man, Xu Chang was nice. But he missed his homeland, the great white walls and his wife.. the people.. the fresh air. He suspected the same that Tai would fall in love with the place too. Tai was his new nickname now too. He was already starting to fit in.
