Hmm I thought you had to pay monthly Is it actually DW's fighting style or is it the regular mmo styled? If it is then I might get over the language issue, it's the only thing keeping from getting that game :/

The fighting style is exactely like any dynasty warriors (Except the fighting style in 6, which has as you know changed considerably). What I mean with 'instanced mmo' is that you see other players in towns, but in battles you fight solo or with just a handful op people.
The language is an issue, but you can play it like this. The bigger problem is the lag. Every 4 minutes my character gets stuck for 10 seconds because of lag. Oh well.

Ahhh! Excitement, I know this thread has gone on for age and this question has probably been asked (probably by me lol) but do you have to buy it? Or do you just download it?

Yup, the release date is set to October, let's just hope nothing comes up that would push the release date back. Also, it's gonna be free to play. I've checked the updates on koeiwarriors.co.uk and it says so there. Also, they're doing this through Aeria Games, and if I'm correct, Aeria doesn't charge for downloading their games. They charge you for special items you want in a game, just like all other MMO games, but other than that, it's free.

I have a feeling we'll all be trying to kill each other on this.

It's pretty much direction-limited and less comfortable than the gamepad, not to mention not being as nice control-coordinated as most FPS PC games. Everything happens with the numbers, and for someone who uses a laptop like me, it requires a separate keyboard so that I won't have to use the horizontal line of numbers.
And lag. I have a pretty fast network connection, as well as a fresh PC, but apparently the lag is unavoidable. :/
As well, anything that can be considered "good" needs to be bought. Seriously. Bullshit.

I have a pretty fast network connection, as well as a fresh PC, but apparently the lag is unavoidable. :/ As well, anything that can be considered "good" needs to be bought. Seriously. Bullshit. Strong claims from you Tai, at the end of the day.. have you even tried the game? I hate to put a good dog down and Koei may produce something of worth. After all we deserve something nice. Being a FPS fan doesn't make MMORPG's any worse. I play COD and WoW as well as before playing loads of RPGs and MMOs; Give the game a chance.. you may enjoy it? (Also your kind of out of the region if your playing it in Canda and the servers are in Japan/China/Korea or any other MMO land.) Lag depends on several things, firstly your own connection, secondly how well the game is run and maintained by your own PC and finally the companys hosting servers and how fluid the in-game system is. I haven't yet played a game which lags because of a company, unless it was a beta-test. Which is fair play in my eyes. I own both a desktop and a laptop but I prefer to play World of Warcraft on my laptop. You don't really require a keyboard or a mouse; though it is useful.. However I like to laze in my bed, spamming quests and raids. Now concluding things, for a start the bloody game is free? That should count for something. I'm paying thirty quid every sixty days for World of Warcraft, yet we will be getting a Dynasty Warriors game for free. Woot? not to mention the community. No doubt this will be big for the DW community which also means we personally can branch out, invited MMO players to check us out and perhaps even hosting our own BB Online Community? Yet; if anyone actually has any information to prove this announcement (rumours -.-) then please post it here.. but for now i'm pretty sure this idea died along with Koei a long time ago? I'm friends with a developer of Koei, in England and theres been no mention of it, no printscreens or wall posts about it therefore I can't help to thing this is something that has been thrown out of proportion? Find me proof this game is going to exist other than in foreign language and i'll be happy. Make sure the proof is solid too; no lame sites. EDITTED: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFniW8gitr8Looks pretty good; I will be getting this and so everyone else has to aswell Looks good fun, especially as a community.

Yes I have played it on my own computer, Colby. The FPS mention was not to compare the styles of the two and my preference over solely one genre over the other, but it was rather intended as an example to say that some games like those used in shooters have a much better choice of controls. It just might be that I have yet to figure out how to reconfigure the keyboard controls, but for one, the default was set quite... unusually. I'm more used to games run on both hands, not one on a small number pad.
Though I will have to agree with you on the part of lag. Not sure how you figured out that I lived in Canada (xD), but apparently it is pretty far from the other end of the globe. :/ Guess that explains why my screen slows down every ten minutes or so even when numerous other games work perfectly fine on it.
Maybe if I hadn't been playing so many other games, this one would have been so fantastic. But it's just the fact that it contrasts so much from the game of similar name on the console sitting right next to me. The quality of what I can so thoroughly enjoy on a DW3 or a DW5... DW BB is just short of reaching that line.
...So I'll reword my opinion. I don't "despise" this game, it's just that it's just... not something that I would spend my time on when I can play something else of more value. It's like how the Atari would have been so nice if the NES hadn't made it's appearance and kicked it out of the options for some people.
And just as a side note. I didn't mean to sound offensive to others or to this game in itself from the above posts. >.>
