As much as i'd like to say the others, Zhuge Liang is the real star of the three kingdoms. His strategies provoked others and theres always something else he did to outsmart others. :') I would say Zhou Yu, but Chi Bi victory was down to Zhuge Liang.

Although I like Sima Yi, I must admit that Zhuge Liang almost always outsmarted him. I guess historically they could have been around equal, but in the RoTK novel, Zhuge Liang has the brain of a god.

I'd like to say Zhou Yu, but I feel Zhuge Liang gets it really. He had the knowledge of pretty much everything - astrology, armnements, and the fact that he councelled on both military, diplomatic and civil affairs.. It has to be him. I feel that had Liu Bei not gone avenging Guan's death, Kongming would've given Shu a complete victory.

Lu Xun isnt given enough credit, he was only 20 when he outsmarted Zhuge Liang. there is a level in i believe DW4 where Zhuge Liang makes a maze for Lu Xun and you must go through it.
this did not actually happen, but was a symbol for the tricks that Zhuge liang put against lu xun, and his victories over them. He single handedly created the best pincer movement against Shu, inihilating Zhang Fei (His men mutinied, but he was done for anyway) and was given Wu's highest honor, and given the right of marriage to one of Sun Quans Daughters. he then retired, if he had not im sure Wu would have conquered over Wei's Sima Yi. He was the one who planned the battle that killed Guan Yu and Guan Ping. He is a very intelligent young man who just retired to soon

I think the Guan Yu/Guan Ping thing was set up by Lu Meng...

Lu meng was a leading general. he was not a strategist. the game confused his role in the battles as being a mentor, when he was a grand general.

He was the commander for Maicheng. But was Lu Xun ever mentioned?

Lu Xun gets a few mentions early on, but only really did much after Lu Meng took over. But I still vote for Zhuge

Zhuge Liang for me as reasons stated above but I've always liked Jiang Wei for some reason I like him in Wu Zhang Plains

Historically, Zhuge Liang was the best strategist and was matchless, although some like Sima Yi were pretty great. Gotta admit Lu Xun was a good strategist for his age, though.

For me Zhou Yu is the best, Zhuge Liang gets credit for stuff he did not actually do at Chi Bi in the novel.

Ah, I guess so, I doubt that Zhuge Liang actually managed to control the wind with prayers. XD
But still he was a great tactician. Can't say about Zhou Yu, I don't know this character very well.
