Wei Ning sat next to his campfire in thought. His mind was racing with ideas and thoughts on how the day went. Just a few days ago he was enjoying a good drink with Kenshi and Rui, and now he'd be in this place blocking the yellow turbans from getting a secure trade advantage against the han.
He held the pass as secure as he possibly could. Archers held the high ground while his cavalry held back incase they where needed. his swordsmen and royal guard held the front lines awaiting the turbans arrival.
Wei Wore his cloak this night tightly he didn't know what the world of tomorrow would bring. He had dispatched a messanger to Dong Zhuo seeking aide, he only hoped it would be in time. The word was the turbans where close, and he hasn't heard anything from Dong Zhuo yet at all.
With this information in mind Wei Ning would have to defend this pass for as long as he could and hope it would be enough, until help arrived, or until the han could dispatch a counter attack on the turbans and keep their trades a little more secure. with a sly smirk Wei stares at his men as they get everything ready he mumbles towards himself. "This'll be some party, lets hope it goes our way boys." he pulls the cloak tighter and begins to help his men to keep morale high.

Many days ago a messenger came upon the door of a certain man, who recently gained military strength from the Regent General worth of 1000 men, it relayed urgency for his dispatch to aid another.. A Wei Ning? This name was not known to the Minister and with all truths, all that were close knew he did not care for the being. However, it was the serpent within the shadows to advise the large framed Warlord to take action; thus securing his own name in the realm and gaining favour from the Imperial Court...an opportunity that he could not lay to rest. Thus, from the Imperial City travelled the man upon his black thoroughbred with his personal unit and Imperial troops. Indeed to those in the know, would feel daunted to have such a being come to reinforce them; for no one could tell if he would truely present himself, especially for a being of no repute.
However, from the rear flank of the pass appeared the line of men headed by a figure of retund physique; a frequent indulger of the luxuries the realm offered. Sword in hand, it was pointed directly towards the pass that was heavily guarded..but still could fall to the reports of a large Yellow Turban unit advancing upon it. "Men, do not allow these scourges to gain the advantage. Those who surrender shall be taken by me! Those who do not? Ha! Be brutal as you wish with them!!" A hail from the group as they started upon the pass, the Cavalry to the fore as the infantry took the rear flank preparing to join that of Wei Ning. From the two sides appeared beings most loyal to the Minister Dong Zhuo. The left held a man of piercing eyes and untrusting intent, desires of poison; Li Ru. To the right rode on a man of muscular build and weapon poised, fierce to gaze upon and ferocious in temperament..brother of the Lead, Dong Min.
"Move from my path you fools, show me this Wei Ning." A bellow from the lips that blurted corruption even before words pertruded from them. Zhongying turned to try and identify this unknown being, by the name of 'Wei Ning'. With his hand, the Warlord gestured for the force guarding the pass to remove themselves so he could make his way through; indeed rude, yet, this land had become learned of his mannerisms. "Where is this Wei Ning? I am here to secure that this Pass does not fall into the hands of those foolish vermin." The brutal eyes continued to search, unhappy about being placed to reinforce someone of no name or even a being stationed higher than him; something he could easily be satisfied with. Nonetheless, he was here now and whatever he placed before him would come to a success..even if it meant tearing the enemy to pieces with his bear hands, and feasting upon their very being with his teeth!

Wei Ning looks upon his messanger whom tells him of an arrival of his aide. He shrugs the messanger aside with a good work attached. He stands up from his campfire, still wearing his pink cloak, and straw hat, two swords can be seen sheathed upon either side of his waist as he moved towards the rather big man, on a slightly exausted horse.
Wei's gaze flows over all of the officers this man brought with him before he actually looks upon the blob itself. "I am Wei Ning, and i suppose you are Dong Zhuo then?" he did greet him with light manners but judging from what he has heard about the big man, he wasn't big for manners anyways.
Dong Zhuo sure did have a force with him as well, though Wei wandered if Dong had the brains to keep his force superior. Made Wei wander how many turbans would show their faces to the pass soon to come. "perhaps we should go sit by the camp fire this night and talk of stratagy?" he quickly followe to get a measure of his fellow ally for this battle to come.

The eyes trailed to the voice that spoke up, a small nod was placed before him that but an ill taste within the palate; all of his jurisdiction bestowed a salutation higher than deserved. Nonetheless, this fool would have to surfice for now and thus looking at his own men..it was more than laughable to the Minister, to think that this fool wanted to hold off the Yellow Turbans with such a small force; did he wish death to grip him? Indeed they were nothing more than scoundrels and disorganised militia, but they had strength in their numbers. "Yes, I am Minister Dong." A assertion of power already, though it was no word of a lie that within the eyes of the Empire Dong currently out-ranked Wei..though usually one would not thrust upon others such things; Dong was not of the same stock as most beings.
As a sigh left his lips, Zhongying waved his hand to the son-in-law Niu Fu to have the men station behind Wei's and bolster the Pass from behind. It was is other son-in-law to accompany him, Li Ru. Dismounting the large frame continued to keep the sword tied to his belt, not one to trust people so easily..especially when one was gaining a reputation. "What strategy do you wish for? They are a bunch of chickens moving to where they sense feed." He was a strong believer in brute force over-whelming a foe, however, to the left the serpent's tongue began to wag and took delight in having the spot light for such a moment. "They shall come in numbers, giving them something we do not have; the Regent General was kind enough to place 1000 men to our trust..though more would have been satisfactory. Wei Ning, have you placed scouts into the fore to gain any information?" As they took their seats, Zhongying turned to face Wei and then glanced back at his advisor.. Li, on the other hand, was focused upon Wei awaiting any form of report of the enemy; hoping that he could relay something onto them. The serpent could foresee two paths, only hoping the correct one could be chosen..

Wei looked upon all of the officers whom joined him at his campfire and nods a bit shaking his head. "Well be quite the party soon to come then, the turbans are coming in force, upward to 2000 or more from what my scouts tell me. you have 1000 and i have 400." Wei took that moment to pause and poor some tea for everyone, handing out the glasses he sat down once more letting what he said sink in.
"I say we use archers on the high ground cliff faces that away once they come we dwindle them down before ground forces jump in to the fray."Wei continues as he hoped to get a tactical advantage of the battle. "Keep a hundred swordsmen to the rear to guard the flank and calvery in reserve to push through and mop up. of course during the battle it'll be changing as we see fit to keep the edge in our pleasure."
He looked to everyone as he had his men set up already and hoped his allies would do his plan or something there better. "Any ideas gentlemen?" he let that be his closing statement.

Hearing the analysis of each force, Zhongying turned to look back at his men and could not help set a roar of laughter to rebuttle the information given. "I bring 1400 men with me Wei Ning, I hope your eyes will not fail when the enemy is infront of you?" Taking old of the cup of tea, the Minister took gentle sips, which would be quite surprising for a man of his size and attitude; however, some principles must be kept..surely. The Advisor however nodded to the words of their comrade and allowed a sigh to leave his lips. Thoughts circulated around his mind and infact, took to the agreement of the plan placed forward by Wei. "Indeed our minds are a like. We must avoid direct combat at the Pass, this way we are sure of defence."
Looking up into the sky, gazing the terrain would be fruitless however, Li Ru had scouts place the surroundings of the Pass before they arrived. He knew that he would get the blame for any failings in strategems, and he wasn't going to risk his status with Zhongying on some pests that have been brainwashed my some commoner who failed at the Imperial examinations. "Hefei is known for its hills, we shall use that against them. We shall place our archers upon them and as the enemy advances arrows shall meet them from the skies." Turning to the direction of the Pass, the serpent gestured to the top of the Gate and a coy smiled approached. "Minister Dong shall place small sum of his own Archers ontop of the Pass walls for further defence from above."
Trailing back to Wei, Li began to stroke his beard goatee as he thought more upon the matter. "There will be survivors, of small number, but still survivors. They will try to push forward no doubt. Perhaps sending Cavalry units to shock those left over, leaving the infantry at the pass to finish of those who slip through the Cavalry ranks?" The serpent did not particularly like having to work strategems with this nobody of a man, however, to benefit them both they had to work together..if they one failed the other would be placed onto the fore with them. Viewing the battle within his mind, Li only hoped that the stampeding Cavalry would be enough to make the Yellow Turban bunch of rogues turn in fear; though in numbers they came..they were not known for their high level of endurance until they feared for their on lives; leaving the ideals of their Leader in the dust. "Hah! My son, how deliciously brutal your mind works. I enjoy such a notion, to see those scoundrel trampled underneath our charge. We shall carry the victory, for sure!"

Wei looked upon Dong and actually was amazed at the sips he took, this man was large, seemed as if he'd eat the cup after the tea was gone. Yet he only sipped. He turned his attention back to Li and nods a bit. "Nice indeed, but the word is it is a massive force coming for us so i'd bet on more then any scout would see. So incase we should keep reserves for sure, perhaps the Royal guard and keep them close incase the archor nor the calvery get the job done. If we can use the hills get a flank on the enemy as well before they reach the pass itself."
He never took any tests or became an imperial himself but Wei knew he was a good stratagist none the less, he's had his share of run ins mostly with larger forces, he always thought on the fly and was never one to just let his men fight, he always fought with them.
"Use infantry to draw them in and calvery to hit from the side or behind depending on their formations. Break their formations after the archers had their hits. if they do reach the pass then infantry and the guards hit em hard."

Setting the cup aside, Zhongying thought on the words and it seemed this fool had some worth after all; perhaps after all this he could try to coerse the youth in returning with him to Tianshui?.. Li Ru nodded, a sigh left his lips that contemplated what was spoken by Wei. Indeed he had a brain within, and he could tell that this attribute had sparked the interest of his father-in-law. "Wei, that has some truth. But I do not believe the Cavalry could attack their rear flank, by the time they reached the foe would be banging on the Pass' gates." The serpent turned to the skies, it was becoming too dark and they would have to have the men sleep at some point; rest was needed to fend off the hordes of Yellow Turbans. "Get to the point of this plan making, do you not see the night sky? We must rest for tommorrow." Bellowed another boute from the large figure has he moved again, too used to being placed upon a raised dais no doubt.
Li inclined his head in a bow to Zhongying, while turning back to Wei hoping that their would be a conclusion to these words. "Our archers shall be the first to make contact, stationed upon the hills; our Cavalry shall follow them up and form behind them. Once they have taken their fill, they shall part and allow the Cavaliers to pincer them. With this some infantry can be used to take the unit head on; with our Imperial Guards standing by in defence." Leaning back, the flames took to the serpent's eyes as the jewel like circles took delight in the strategems being conjured. Stroking the goatee, he looked further upon Wei Ning, to obersve the movements and awaiting the end result..words could not be sturred any longer, for much planning had to be made in order to bring a full success to the Imperial Capital; he would not allow his father-in-law's name be sullied by a simple boute of mistakes from someone they did not know...

Wei Ning smiles at the thought. He saw the spark in the eyes of the brutes and Dong's to his strategy. Though the brute did have a point it would be time to sleep now anyhow, any strategy desided would have to wait and see the result come the battle.
He nods towards Li and smirks softly. "Then we have desided, my cunning friend. Tomorrow we shall have our victory. Now we all indeed should rest. I bid you all good night. An hope for the best in the battle to come."
With those words Wei Ning stood up taking a bow in respect after all they were allies weather anyone liked it or not. He took a final sip from his tea and made off to get his men rest and take a watch post for himself. His men needed all the rest they could get before the battle came.

~Wei Ning~
~Wei stood along the pass with his hues staring out in the open land beyond the pass. His mind as racing with many stratagies. His pink cloak blew slowly with the light breeze the night air paved towards the funnel of the pass. Both swords hung within their hilts as his hand rested upon the top easies one to touch.~
~His men though slightly skiddish due to the coming evens worked hard through the night to keep Wei's plan pushing forward. Several lines of oil lay spralled before the pass, this would provide with a fire arrow to ignite the lines and hopefully scatter and confuse, the enemies to come. After that in which his cavalry would push through then individual lines and flank the enemies catching stragglers.~
~Wei then would push his swordsmen, and royal guard in along with himself and continue the hopeful slaughter of the yellow turbans whom wish the take this land for their own greed. All of this played out in Wei's head over and over, sure he had back up idea's yet, none could be sure until the actual battle began.~
~All Wei could do now was lie and wait for the foes to come. His army and plan were ready, the preperations where done, as they worked to tie up the loose ends. Wei had helped with what he could, and now he just waited for his scouts to return with word of the enemy and their numbers. He hoped his small army would be enough to repel this onslought, but for now he could only wait.~

(RWAR! Bow to the mighty G MOD! I will try to make this thread quick since the YT invasion is over plus I'm sick of the YTs now ) The Yellow Turban forces were led by two young, yet arrogant leaders. Their forces were large but not powerful or skilled. They lacked thought about plans and being stuck within such rough terrain was not going to benefit them or the brain-washed legion that followed them. One leader decided to send the 500 peasants to the front to navigate through the terrain whilst hiding the true intentions of this maneuver. The peasants were living bait to draw out the enemy's attack. The leaders had a funny feeling that the pass would be protected by some officer or another that belonged to the Han. The archers and spearmen were kept to the back whilst the cavalry forces pushed the nervous peasants forward into the pass. The formation was barely there and wasn't very organised as the two leaders argued between themselves like the teenagers that they were. In a strange way they were just being sent to their doom. ~Wei Ning~
~Wei stopped his morning breakfast once a scout made it back with word, the turbans finally came, though it was late for the turbans to finally get here his men where kept strong with plenty of sleep and food rations. Wei stood and listened to his fellow scout.~
~"So, they have come, and peasents are taking the front...the rest hidden but not very well. Alright time we rally the men awake and get them to their places. Quickly warn the calvary tell them to be ready." With those words the scout moved off quickly to warn the calvary of Wei's words as Wei moved getting the rest of the men around and to their places.~
~He moved his archors high along the pass walls, not th fire arrows just yet, he counted on the peasents not really wanting to fight, so once they where in range. Wei gave the word and a volley of arrows sorred through the air at the peasents. His swordsmen and royal army lay in wait for what would come next.~

(Dong Zhou hasn't been on for a while so feel free to use his troops for this quest to even out the odds.)
The peasants edged along the pass, their eyes shifting about cautiously for any sign of attack. They were panicked and they had nothing to really defend themselves with as they continued along with the cavalry pushing them from behind. The fact that the Yellow Turban forces hadn't seen any signs of the enemy only made the peasants and other troops uneasy as they continued along.
Soon enough one of the leaders made the call for the troops to halt their advance. Then the Yellow Turbans sent some of the peasants to crawl up the sides of the pass to check for enemy movement.

~Wei waited until the time was right. As soon as the first few peasents popped their heads out, Wei waved his arm. with three hundred archers, a volley of arrows sprang free and headed towards the peasents. With one more wave the archers fired as quickly as possible.~
~Wei wanted the main army to push before he would ignite the oil. He knew this was only a scouting party to see what he had. Until he could get the leader to push his main force he'd ignite and continue with his plan of attack. He only hoped it would be soon.~
~The calvery remained hidden to wait for th fire and smoke to ride and Wei wa in front of his swordmen and royal guard awaiting for his push. Dong's men laid in wait as reserves.~

The peasants went down swiftly but it alerted the rest of the Yellow Turban army to the fact that they were not alone in the pass. The leaders sprung immediately by using their archers to fire upwards at the sides of the pass in hope of taking down the enemy units. They targeted the areas where the peasant scouts fell from.
