Snow

Trudging through the snow wearily Rasa suddenly pitched forward as something cold and hard hammered the back of his head. Spinning around he was confronted with a laughing Ly'rea. So That's how it's going to be. Scooping down he packed a chunk of snow into a rough sphere and hurled it at the laughing girl's face. Surprised, she stood there a moment thinking before squealing in glee. She threw more snow at Rasa. "What are you doing? We have work to do!" He was rewarded with a well placed snowball in his mouth. She really is just a little girl. He thought. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I got to play around like that. It must be nice to be young. Considering that he wasn't yet an adult himself that somehow seemed humorous. Well, I guess I deserve a break every once in a while. "Come here, you!" He shouted and took off after the girl. Both screaming and playing in snow like children with no cares in the world, despite their six year age difference and the dark clouds of change looming on the horizon. For one infinitesimal moment, duty, honor, responsibility, these were just words with no meaning.

Yen Wang was trailing after Rasa. He was curious to see what he does when he was out of Yen Wang’s sight. If he had known that it would involve snow. He would of stayed at the inn. wearily Rasa suddenly pitched forward as something cold and hard hammered the back of his head. Suddenly he began a snowball fight with a little runt. “I should’ve known, he was still a kid,” He said with a sigh.

Yeng Wang found a safe spot with no snow; he imeditaly tip-toed off towards it. "How one could play in this bizarre weather is beyond me.” He kept his eyes on the two love birds.”I don’t have time to for such childish antics. I must find more pawns, and continue to build my army.” He finally arrived at the tree; he placed his back against it and frowned.

[Sun Qing Liang]

"Damn snow!" Gong growled. She absolutley hated the cold weather, and this in particular was scratching at her irritation. As she walked through the tough terrain she stumbled across a few children playing in the snow. " I remember when i used to have no worries in the world.....what a boring time of my life it was...." She said to herself. Thoughts of her child years swarmed through her mind. Her playing in the snow with her parents when she was about 10 years old. Right before her life changed and her parents found her as a nuisance. "Ugh!" She grunted.

She shook those memories aside and scanned the area. She also found a man leaning against a tree which was free of snow. She figured she should find a place warm before she froze to death. She huddled her clothes closer to her body to retain the warmth. She spotted a small opening in a small hill. "Great... a dirty cave will be my nice little spot for tonight..." She said with a sigh. She had no money to stay at an inn or any family to go to now. She already used all her money she got from her last job for a few things she needed to get through this cold atmosphere. She headed towards the cave and wondered about what she was going to do next.

Panting, Rasa stumbled around like a drunkard. He was exhausted and yet Ly'rea was still playing. Gods she has stamina! He doubted he could win in an endurance contest with true warriors like his lord, but he didn't expect to place any lower then second. "Hey," a snowball knocked him off his feet and for a moment all he could do was lay there breathing. "I think...that's enough." Ly'rea looked at him, recalled how she ended up having to follow him, admittedly by her own choice even if it was made out of desperation, and retreated back into her mental shell. Damn, now I've done it. It's not going to be easy to get her to open up again. Rasa had no problem with a silent companion, he loved silence, but for a young girl to follow his every whim without comment or joy? It seemed criminal. Shivering, he realized how late it had gotten while the two played. "Hey. I think we better find a place to camp." He started looking around for a nice place to settle. "Cave." He almost missed her speak in the wind. "What?" Ly'rea had already started trudging towards a cave she had spotted. Fool girl, doesn't she know she could be killed if a predator is in there? Suddenly all business again Rasa sprinted to overtake his spouse. Damn, it's not that I care for her. I barely even know her. It's just....damn.

[Yen Wang (Burai)]

Yen Wang was trying his best to endure this weather. “Even entities such as I, struggle with the elements. I will not admit defeat, I shall conquer this Climate!” He placed his right index finger under his nose and rubbed it admirably. Suddenly, a clump of snow fell of the tree and landed on him. His face and shoulders were covered in snow. “Indeed, this is a remarkable feat; good move…good move.”

He slightly pulled down his pants and relieved himself on the snow; spelling his name as he did so. “But, my move is bet-“ He saw Rasa and his lady friend go into the cave. “He is far too young to be doing that!? Then again... Maybe his is a man after all, but he likes them really young…” Yen Wang pulled up his pants and shrugged. He decided to follow the two into the cave. He tried his best to be as stealthy as he could, as he crept silently through the snow.

~ Mi Gong Zhu~

As Gong huddled the coat made of white tiger fur closer to her body, she felt a disturbance in the air. She pulled herself up as the coat fell below her knees. "First I have to deal with this weather and now I have to deal with untamed beats of the wild....... Oh well, their hides will be good money." She said while looking on the bright side. In her defence she withdrew her swords from their sheathes.

She took a look outside while staying hidden in the shadow of the caverns. She saw a rather young girl walking towards her. " Well your hide won't go for much now will it? " She said with a disappointing look on her face. She walked out of the shadows and into the sight of the girl. She put on a nice and loving look on her face. She didn't want to scare the little girl....too much. She unarmed herself and bent down putting her hands on her calves. " What is a small child like you doing with a..." She stopped herself and spotted a young man trailing this girl. " Oh I see...silly men fooled you into such an adult act huh? You poor thing." She said. " Little boys and their hormones....." She thought to herself. A cold breeze swept in and sent chills up Gong's spine. She quickly took both sides of the coat and pulled them closer.

Ly'rea shivered in the cold. Hearing someone speak she blinked at this woman who appeared before her. "Who?" She just stood there for a moment. "Act?" Though she knew nothing about her, Ly'rea thought this woman was pretty so she should trust her. Everyone knew that women didn't lie. Especially pretty ones. "Is this cave yours? I can go elsewhere if you'd like." Where, she had no idea, but that didn't occur to her.

Rasa on the other hand was not so naive. The moment he saw this woman he recognized a potential threat. He instinctively flicked open one of his blades and loosened his bindings. He figured this woman was a capable fighter. Not even a great fool would travel alone in this kind of climate without being very confident in their ability to survive. Which meant he'd be an even greater fool to think she wouldn't have a weapon ready to use at a moments notice. Well my old friend. Let's go see who we're dealing with shall we? He put up his traditional smile. "Oh, someone else is already here? You wouldn't mind if we imposed on you would you? As you can see the weather is bad and getting worse. We need a place to rest for the night." Keeping his left hand out of sight he extended his right. "I'm Rasa, that's Ly'rea. Pleasure to meet you."

He stumbled his way into the cave, panting franticly. His clothes were all wet, Yen Wang placed his hand against the wall of the cave."Curse this inclement weather," He said as he slowly remove his his clothes. The only thing remained was his undergarments; that were soaked and revealing.

He heard voices further in, he recognized Rasa's but who where the other two? Yen Wang shrugged and walked further into the cave. As the others came in view, "Out of th three of you, no one made a fire..This is great... I'm going to freeze to death."

Gong scanned the young man as he approached her. She could see it in his eyes that he was cautious with her. She listened to his explanation and looked outside. The weather was getting worse by the minute. She couldn't leave this two to freeze to death at such a young age. " Eh....come in. It's not lke I own this damn cave." She said while quickly placing her hands over her mouth. She was taught not to say things like that in front of children. " Excuse my language. This climate is just not my cup of tea, especially when it gets this bad." She said as she motioned her hand towards the cave. The wind began to blow torrentially and Gong reacted by cuddling with her fur coat. She ran inside the cave the escape the frigid breezes from outside.

As she sat down in the floor of the cave she heard a voice coming from deeper inside the cave. It was faint so she thought her mind was playing tricks with her senses so she ignored it. She took a look at the brand on her hand. She could see that she had bumps on her skin. She sighed and reached into her pockets to keep her hands warm. " So who wants to venture out and fetch me some wood for a fire?" She said with a smile.

Rasa froze. Yen Wang was here? Why? Is he following me? Why else would he not say anything until just now? But why did he reveal himself now when it would be so much more advantageous to keep himself hidden? The answer to that last one at least was obvious. If he hadn't, he would freeze to death. Wondering if his lord suspected something, Rasa forced himself to appear relaxed. His usual fake grin showing brightly. He would volunteer to gather fire wood, yes. And then... what? Set a trap maybe? He was good at those. But to kill his own lord to whom he had sworn loyalty? Why not? It's not like he trusts me. But trust had nothing to do with it. He had just made up his mind and opened his mouth to speak when something grabbed his hand.

Looking down he stared at her large shining eyes. They almost looked sad, and he thought he saw a hint of a tear in them. What was this? Surely there was nothing he had done to her to make her cry, but even so hurt knifed through his heart. He took a couple steps towards the outside world and she pulled on his arm again. Puzzled he watched her as she lightly pushed him backwards, obviously indicating he was to wait there, and walked out of the cave into a raging blizzard.

Yen Wang swayed his left hand from side to side. His eyes quickly traced the interior of the caves and its locals. He was aware of Rasa and his little friend, Not the woman. Yen Wang glanced over at Rasa; he smiled at him, that smile was quite odd, Yen Wang found it disgusting. It was dull and lacked expression.

"Come now Rasa? You been acting rather odd, as of late. I was curious to why. I see you found yourself a lovely, and enchanting young woman. But, be wary a woman's heart is not to be tampered with," Yen Wang said with a grin. He turned his attention to the woman.

"Why don't you and I become friends, we run into each other quite frequently. The heavens must want us to be more than just an acquaintance." He smiled at her; fluffing his bangs, the weather had a way with tampering with his hair. Once he was done fixing his hair. He tossed a glance at the little girl. "Hmm, why was that little girl following Rasa. If Rasa was invincible before, he has an obvious weakness now..."

~ Mi Gong Zhu~

Gong pondered through her pockets to find something to light a fire when a voice from the distance suddenly became clear. She looked to the direction of the origin of the voice and saw a man ask her a question. " Hmm he looks familiar somehow..." She thought to herself. She stood up as she realized who he was. A worried look appeared apon her face. Liang had adescribed a man very much like this. His personality around Liang made her annoyed as she looked out into the storm. She looked to the little girl as she was worried about that Rasa man. She walked up to her and looked into her eyes. She put on a conforting smile and took off her jacket. " Here this will keep you warm until he gets back with the firewood." She said in an energetic voice. She would rather be frozen solid than to watch a young girl freeze to death.

She turned towards the man with the question. Liang confied in Gong with any problems and she never lied. Gong had to keep a close eye on this one. she shifted her swords around and already felt them getting cold. Her Kimono was the only thing keeping her decently warm for the time being. " That kid needs to hurry up..." She quietly said. She sat down a few feet away from this man. " Heavens huh? Tch.....foolish religion isn't one of my best ineterests, if not at all." She said with a dark voice. She hated religion and everything to do with it. She believed that when you died you were just rotting in the ground wishing that religion was real. That the light will find you, but they laid there with their bodies, trapped in the ground.

[Yen Wang (Burai)]

“Oh is that compassion? Comforting one in the same state as you? How bothersome, I would only think about doing something so foolish for my own,” Yen Wang stared at the girl; she wasn’t a part of his pack. He had no need for her, or the desire to take care of her. She belonged to Rasa; rasa was his subordinate, he went out of his way to cater to her as well. Yen Wang sighed and placed his wet clothes close to the flame so they would dry quickly.

The woman came and sat down near him. He felt goose bumps form on his skin; he casually rubbed his hands up and down against his bare body. “You are quite the simpleton. I don’t speak about religion, foolish woman..I am beyond you’re comprehension.” He laughed at her, “You seriously think religion has anything to do with me? I will crush whatever religion stands after I conquer this land.” He grinned to himself evilly.

“You don’t have to believe in the heavens, if you forsake it. It will forsake you and bring you forth before judgment. Oddly they brought us together now, I don’t feel or see a reason to smite you.” He looked at the flames, watched them dance together. “All that could change at a moment’s notice.” Yen Wang tilted his head to the side and smiled at the woman. “Don’t fret, much like the fool who I once was, I believe in chance. The heavens aren’t always right, which is why I am the judge.”

~Mi Gong Zhu~

Gong tuned the man out as he began to spew rude comments and rant about himself. She placed her hand on her temples and began to rub them. She looked at the girl and smiled while trying to ignore the man. She coughed a few times into her arm. She sighed as the man finished and she shifted her swords around, while laying her scythe by her side. She placed her hand over her mouth as she began to yawn. " Not that your self-indulgent speech was boring, but I haven't slept in a few days so as soon as the kid comes back I'm calling it a night." She explained as she untied the belt which held her swords and placed them by her scythe. She leaned against the wall of the cave and tried to endure the cold. She was content with the little girl not freezing to death.
