As Zhi Fang jumped into the fray without much signs of hesitation, making his first kill, Wei Yan couldn't help but silently admit that he had in fact felt relief in a long while. Sure, he was a proud and arrogant warrior, but being pincered in from both sides by murderous enemies wasn't such a bright future for any man. Unwilling to lose the advantage to the uneasily allied partner, Wei Yan quickly broke out of his thoughts and rejoined the brawl.
His blade swung once more, piercing through the back of a soldier completely ignorant to his rear approaches, but instead only focused on Fang ahead of him. The impaled corpse was lifted high into the air, Wei Yan's muscles straining to hold up the gigantic, iron-clad form, and in another second was flung into the crowd of chaotically moving devils, bowling down a couple under the massive weight of the giant.
But that certainly wasn't enough to even take off a fifth of the entire army mass.
The pile of three bowled down bodies instantly exploded with a cloud of violet smoke, temporarily blinding both Wei Yan and the opposing devils from seeing their enemies. Yelling into the darkness for Fang to catch a sound and follow him, he quickly strapped the double voulge onto his back and began to move.
"Run..."

"Right behind you!"As Zhi said this, he pushed with all his might on the guard he was facing off with, and he overpowered him, knocking the guard on the floor. Zhi saw the hunter go into the smoke. Not hesitating, Zhi quickly followed him. As soon as he went into the smoke, he was hit straight in the face with it and it caused him to be almsot completly blind. Not worrying about it, Zhi continued to run, and when he saw the occasional blade, he would duck or side step way from it and continue running.
(Sorry for the short post, I am at school and I had to rush ^_^)

The exit was almost just ahead of them. Only a few more steps of the dash, and Wei Yan would be sprinting out of the palace and into the hopefully safer streets of Xia Pi. But all that was thought too soon, as the smoke faded away in a couple more moments, clearing his own vision, but cleaning those of his enemies as well. He heard the sound of several spears landing to his side, and finally a silent landing. Silent landing?
No, not silent at all.
He felt a surge of immense pain course through his flesh and bones, cutting like the sharp edge of an iron sword. And that was exactly what it was. The momentum and power of the throw had sent it hurtling straight into Wei Yan's back, as his rather bare rear form was instantly drenched in his own crimson blood sputtering out of the fountain of doom. With an ear-piercing cry, he dropped to the ground.
He wasn't dead.
But he wasn't fully alive either.

What happened next is still something Zhi can not answer how he did it. All he can say is that he just did it. Zhi heard the yell and saw his companion on the ground, covered in blood. It was against Zhi's code to just leave him there to die. Without even thinking about it or even stopping, Zhi swopped down, grabbed his companion up and began to run with him, even before Zhi put him over his shoulder. Beyond exhaustion, all Zhi had was his well-toned insinct of survival to keep him going. Like a bull, Zhi just plowed through the guards, though he slowed down a little bit when he felt a sharp pain,(which Zhi learned later was a stab made by a spear)but he still kept going. He was so close to getting out of there, he could not be stopped when he was so close to freedom...

Wei Yan had almost given up all hope of surviving that living hell, the true inferno of evil upon earth. That was, until he felt something hard bash into his underside, a heavy smash into his stomach. Instantly, he assumed with an automatic understanding that it was the strike that would bring about his death, digging under him and bringing it up with the ending slice. But to his frank surprise, it wasn't. In fact, it had been the saving hand that had picked him up and flung him over the shoulder of the rescuer.
Opening his eyes as he lay in helpless pain upon the figure under him, Wei Yan's eyes grew even wider from behind his mask as he realized that his rescuer was none other than Zhi Fang, the hunted, the former prey, showing kindness to him who certainly deserved otherwise. Straining his muscles, Wei Yan reached back with one hand and gripped tight onto the long shaft sticking out of his back before he pulled it out with a loud yell. The blood sputtered out more than ever, but he ignored the pain in a fit of rage.
Still holding onto the shoulder he was saved on, Wei Yan turned his body around and, with a large battle cry, flung the bloody spear straight into the deformed shape of his pursuer's face, plunging into and even through the entire skull.

The eit was in sight, they were so close...but the evil grip of Iron Crown was not so easily broken. Two guards appeared in front of the main exit of Iron Crown. The guards put their spears up towards the intruders, making sure they could not get pass. That would not stop Zhi though. Zhi swung his sword, killing two guards to their side. Zhi quickly dropped his own sword and grabbed with both of his hands the spears each guard was holding. With all the power and movement Zhi could allow, he threw both spears at the guards spears, and he watched as they broke straight through the spears. Not slowing down, Zhi lowered his shoulder and he rammed right through the guards. Though Zhi did not see that their was a large hill right outside of the exit, so they began to tumble right down it, but they had escaped Iron Crown.
After a couple of more minutes running,(after picking Wei Yan up again after the tumble)Zhi fell on the ground in exhaustion. They should be far enough from Iron Crown now, so they had time to rest. Zhi placed Wei Yan softly on the ground and then Zhi laid down on the soft grass, and as soon as he fell, he automatically went to sleep.

All went by so fast. A blur the world was as Zhi Fang seemed to bash straight through numerous enemies, the demons collapsing and falling out left and right as he charged through. His wound yet to mend or even to stop its ejaculation of blood, Wei Yan soon enough found his mind slipping away from him. Trying to stay focused at the matter at hand, finally truly afraid of the possibility of death and a cruel, horrible death, he gripped on tight as they leapt through the exit and down the hills of Xia Pi's landscape.
Then everything went black.
Completely black.
When the light came back into his eyes, he was facing a crescent moon, right side-up. His wound was still just about open, though it was good luck that had prevented it from being a huge, gaping slash instead of the deep, narrow slot that it was right now. The grass was wet, most likely from his own crimson liquids. But for some reason, a single thought revolved in his head: Maybe it wouldn't have been bad after all to just have taken the gold and left with it.
He turned his head and noticed Zhi Fang, still asleep from his own assumed collapse. Reaching over, Wei Yan carefully plucked the leather pouch hanging by the man's belt as he heard the familiar sound of gold shingles rattling about.
Well, he had to have some reward.
When Fang woke up, he would find nothing but blood-stained grass. (Just so you guys know, I posted in the donation thread giving Wei Yan all my money ,so this is where he got it from. Just to clarify ^_^)
