The Phoenix of Cheng Du (Cao Cao)

[Cao Cao]

Cao Cao looked at Kang with surprise, this was unexpected. Cao Cao smiled, shook his head and said,"Of course, go ahead. Haha, this shall be interesting."As Cao Cao said this, he began to walk backwards towards a wall, so he could lean against it and watch what Kang had to offer, as well as Cao Cao's own troops had to offer.

[Kang Ren]

Kang Ren nodded and turned back around looking at the troops. He stared at them intensely until all of them had their eyes on him. He nodded and said, "I am Kang Ren. A new officer of your lord Cao Cao. Right now you are going to be doing some drills. And definitely not the drills you have been doing. Split into three groups." And the men did so just a little too slowly. Kang Ren bellowed, "OKAY! NOW SINCE YOU TOOK TO LONG! RUN 5 LAPS AND DROP DOWN AND DO FIFTY PUSH UPS!" The men stood shocked and didn't move. This was a mistake. Kang Ren walked towards the nearest soldier, picked him up and tossed him aside, "NOW GO!" The men ran.

The ran and Kang Ren could easily tell some of these men only focused on their muscles and not their endurance. He shook his head and muttered under his breath, "Pathetic." When the first few men got back, they instantly dropped down and did the pushups. Soon the entire regiment was doing pushups. He nodded and smiled, he was going to change these soldiers into a force to be reckoned with. Once they were done, he said once more, "SPILT INTO THREE!"

This time they did so without fail. He smiled, "Now, find away to label yourself as a different from each other. One wear blue, one wear white, and one wear brown. MOVE!" They did so. Kang Ren turned to Cao Cao, "I want to test your men's skills at battle. Is that fine with you?"

[Cao Cao]

Cao Cao nodded and brushed his hand, telling Kang to go ahead. This was very entertaning for him, and it also is good for the troops, they needed a good work out, they were getting a little to lazy. This man would be a nice addition to his forces indeed. Cao Cao kept watching as Kang continued his tests.

[Kang Ren]

Kang Ren nodded and said, "Thank you my lord." He turne back around to the men and yelled, "Get practice weapons! Get ready for a skirmish for all of you to fight. Most people think that it is usually one on one, but that is not always true. This battle I want the Brown versus the white and blue!" The battle began. Of course the brown group lost because they were outnumbered, but Kang Ren applauded them, "They have done well. Now, we do another. We must keep your endurance up. You could be in battle for hours, day, or even possibly weeks with little rest. You must get ready!" He yelled, "Now I want Blue versus Brown and White!" And for the next hour the traded places, one versus two, and then a free for all at the end. By the end of the drills, one hour and a half had past.

"Form up!" Kang Ren yelled. The men formed ranks. They were exhausted. They wanted to stop. But Kang Ren had something else in mind, "Run three laps and then thirty pushups. Then you can retire! Now go!" and the men ran off. Kang Ren turned back to his lord and nodded, "Your men are good, but not great."

[Cao Cao]

Cao Cao watched it all with enthusiasm. It made Cao Cao feel younger by just watching these men fight until they couldn't lift there weapons anymore, and kept on fighting. This man, Kang, is just what this army needed, he has re-invigorated this army, and the army will be better because of it. Cao Cao watched as Kang walked towards him and replied to him,"Sadly, I know, but if you keep them doing this for a couple of weeks, they will be the best warriors in all the land, haha. There is something I would like to talk to you about, but we must speak of it in private, let me take you to my room where we can speak more freely."Cao Cao did not even wait for Kang to respond as he turned around and went out the door and turned the corner heading for his room.

[Kang Ren]

Kang Ren nodded and silently followed his lord to his room. He looked around the extravagant place thinking of how some of the decorations shouldn't be needed, but he wouldn't mind if they were there. As they arrived at Cao Cao's room, Kang Ren was very nervous. He had no idea what his lord wanted, but he hoped it wasn't something bad. Kang Ren stopped before the door and asked, "My lord, what is it?" He couldn't contain his curiosity any longer.

[Cao Cao]

Cao Cao nodded and turned around and said to Kang,"Okay, I have been looking for a strong man who could lead the forces of Wei for a time. After watching you work with the troops, I know now that there is no better person to leave Wei in the hands of. I am leaving for a time, I need to travel, see things, clear some things up in my life that need dealt with. I am asking you to be the caretaker of Wei until I come back and I know that you will, no, are the best person for the job. I know you might have just joined Wei and it might feel a little weird, but you must be the person who does this, what do you say? Can I leave Wei in your capable hands?"

[Kang Ren]

Kang Ren was stunned, such a huge responsibility. Something he didn't expect. He didn't know what to say. He stood shocked for a few moments. But he came too and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and said, "You trust someone you just met to take over your kingdom? One that you do not know if he will return the kingdom to you once you return?" Kang Ren asked. But he was silent for a few moments before he finally knelled before Cao Cao, something he had never done in his life, "Never in my life have I bowed before a man until now, my lord, you honor me too much, I will my lord. I will." Kang Ren said. He was filled with emotion, uncertainty and happiness. He had coming searching for a lord, and now that lord has given him the biggest task ever, to rule his kingdom.

[Cao Cao]

Cao Cao smiled, put his hand on Kang's shoulder and patted it. After he did that, he turned around, snapped his fingers, and he walked into his room and shut the door. A guard came towards Kang and told him that his lord was tired and that he was to lead Kang to his new room.

Cao Cao decided to take a nap, the current events made him very tired. When he wakes up though, Cao Cao will gather some of his things and ride out, deciding to go Westward first, having some buisness there he wanted to settle.

[Kang Ren]

Kang Ren stood stunned as he was ushered out of the room, as soon as Cao Cao left, he was the leader of Wei. It was time he got serious and he headed to his room. It was time to prepare to let the ones he wanted to know that he ruled. Sun Jian and Lui Bei were at the top of his list. He needed allies. Ones he could trust. He couldn't trust Yen Wang. It was time to begin his rule over Wei...
