 KOEI has announced the release of Warriors Orochi Z (Musou Orochi Z) for the PlayStation 3. The game sets to be released in Japan on March 12, 2009!
A scan has shown up and according to it, Warriors Orochi Z will NOT be a Warriors Orochi 3, but instead, it's WO and WO2 with more characters and stages, for Playstation 3 owners only.
- This game is confirmed for PS3 exclusive.
- Contains full WO1 and 2 storyline.
- Benkei who worked under Minamoto no Yoblehsune has been revealed as a new character. Plus another character mentioned, but not revealed.
- Dodomekki and Gyuki are also playable in Story Mode now.
- Dramatic Mode is now fully playable, meaning you can choose your own three characters rather being fixed to choice. Plus new stages are available in this mode.
- Many more storyline stages.

Musou Orochi Z for the PlayStation 3 will have:
- 12 new stages for Dramatic Mode (Dream Mode), and you are able to use any 3 of your characters in Dramatic Mode.
- Dodomekki and Gyuki are now able to use on any mode.
- You can now play alone with CPU in all VS mode.
- 4 costumes for each character, 4th costume is palette swap.
- New character - Benkei added.
- * "Unknown female silhouette" as the last new character - to be revealed on in the end of February."
There will be 2 new characters added in Musou Orochi Z, the first one revealed was Benkei and who will be the final one? From the silhouette, we think that might be a female character, but who would she be? The answer will be revealed in the end of January 2009.
Musou Orochi Z isn't a sequel of Warriors Orochi 2. It's a game with the merge of Warriors Orochi and Warriors Orochi 2 together with 2 extra characters and 12 extra stages and more cutscenes. This game is exclusive for PlayStation 3 only.
Some said that is Lady Shizuka, some said that is San Zang, some said that is Gundam, some said that is Susanoo, some said that is Ryu Hayabusa, some said that is Braska.

Dynasty Warriors 6 and Samurai Warriors in my Musou Orochi Z? You could say that!
Announced in the latest Famitsu scan is that for those characters that have appeared in Dynasty Warriors 6, they will be having their DW6 costumes. For those that have appeared in the first Samurai Warriors, they would be getting their alternate costume from that game, with updated graphics of course. As for those that are not in these groups, they will simply have new costumes. (no information as to whether Dodomeki, Gyuki or Shin Orochi will be getting new costumes).
As you can see, Diao Chan in her DW6 costume, Hideyoshi in his SW1 alternate and Yoblehsune with a new costume design!

Anyway the new character is....
*Drumroll* 三蔵法師 The Buddhist Priest/Priestess Sanzang.
Surprised? Well, Sanzang is sometimes depicted as female in Japan, and remember that this game is made in Japan after all.
Also, on a related news, 2P play has been improved in MOZ. Now the second player can choose a different team, so there's no more getting stuck with the same team.

I guess this is their PS3 version of warriors orochi. I wonder if the DW characters will look like they do in DW5 or 6?

They will take the appearance of DW5. This feature will contain WO1 & WO2's story line in one disc plus 5 more new playable characters. One of them has been revealed to be Benkei, Yoshithine's friend.

It won't be PS3 exclusive. I mean, hello? When has anything Koei claimed to be PS2/3 exclusive NOT been ported to Xbox/360 at the last minute? I'm not worried. Besides, if it's just the same stories again, then it'll get boring really fast. Benkei sounds like the only plus side, as he should have been in WO in the first place. Dodomekki better not be a Kotaro clone if he's being added to Story Mode. And Zhen, it's Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Dunno why you keep calling him Yoblesune. Personally, I'm relieved the DW characters keep their 5 incarnations, cause more than half of them realy blow in 6. We wouldn't want half of the DW being clones of the other half now would we? <_<

Well, Companies who make the consoles (Nintendo, Playstation, Microsoft) Get money due to how successful to console is to the buyer, further more the games that are available exclusively to that console, Example Halo, Huge success when it was first released, and the follow up Halo 2 sold millions. When Halo 3 was announced for X360, sales went up for that system and thus money was going to Microsoft who would pay Bungie etc etc. Thats, how Companies thrive, In the gaming industry. Koei is making use of its money making schemes to bring two games that were Good Sellers on the Ps2 & 360, and bringing it together for a brand new console to get more money out of it. |

Yes, it really is looking good. I will trade my PS2 WO2 for this one. It really is exclusive for PS3. Xbox360 has WO1 and WO2 so there is no point in bringing the same game again to Xbox360 with only little added features.
I think adding the DW6 models to this game is a great addition. I will finally play Zhen Ji with her DW6 costume and flute!
