Well i tend to be a mercenary on any site that is roleplay, so i was wondering, since you have things like Wu, Shu, and Wei, why not have a Mercenary place, if anyone needs help they can go there, or heck, if you just want to hear rumours, i'm pretty sure that could fit a story too, let me put an example up. Example: A cloaked man entered the tavern, looking around until he saw what he was looking for. A man sat alone in the shadows, as though waiting for the cloaked figure, then motioned to him. The cloaked figure sat beside the man, speaking in a quiet voice. "Do you have what we requested?" he asked. "Do you have the gold? I don't risk my life for free" responded the shadowry man. Hefting a small sack onto the table, the cloak fell off the man slightly, revealing a Wu symbol. The other man checked the contents, then smiled. "If you want to know where Wei is going to strike, then let me say this, i lost a brother getting this information, so i expect you to avenge him for me. Wei is going to strike here, in roughly a week" he said, handing over a document. End Example
You see where i'm going with this?

That is a good suggestion, although it would have to be done through a member of the Wei side that wished to turn traitor and offer information. It wouldn't really work with unaffiliated officers.
I put in a suggestion for the roleplay areas, where you had some dedicated to anything that took place within a city, or a different one where stuff took place in villages.
This sort of thing could take place there, with the secretive meetings and such.
Good idea for roleplay though. I'm looking forward to seeing your character, and welcome to DW RP.

That's because I can't usually get online fridays through sundays. I'm working on changing that but procrastination is biting me right now.
As for your idea. There's a few problems I'd have to resolve for that to be possible. Let me turn it over in my head and discuss with other admin. I know what you're getting at, but ..... like I said, there's a few problems.

I will allow a few mercs. But I have to change the boards around. I'm working on mass e-mail. Then changes.

Remember. IC and OOC are different. While my charrie IC might not like you (not yet, just saying) it doesn't mean anything OOC.

Yes, the big concern is that those playing merc will get p'offed and suddenly up and start spouting stuff for OOC reasons. One concern was the fact that the camps were passworded, so the passwords were only for those members of the kingdom. This has been rectified, in that now we have three groups, aptly named, Wu, Wei, and Shu. If you are aligned with a kingdom, you have membership in the group, specifically through your username. As such, you will only ever see that kingdoms board on the main page. You will never even see the two opposing kingdoms boards. No passwords required to enter them, you just have to be logged into your account. Very simple. So if a merc of Wei suddenly up and decides to turn traitor and run to Shu, he can be transfered to the new group. This also will reduce the fact that, with passwords, a traitor can enter their old camp, see whats going on, and learn stuff oocly, that they would have no knowledge of icly. With the group system, now they can no longer enter a former camp, which could be interpreted as the guards at the entries to a gate, barring entrance, due to their defection. A small bit of rp really, but it ties things together, and fits it more tightly together.
I have also put forth the idea of a subboard in each kingdom camp. To simulate two camps. The outer camp is primarily the soldiers, minor officers. while the subboard is the inner camp. Only the officers, generals, commanders, and elite may enter here, as here the war planning will take place. Mercs would be allowed in the outer camp, but while they aren't as trusted, it could be some time before they were allowed into the inner camp, into an area closer to the lord that they could possibly be there to attempt an assassination upon.
That would require two groups for each though, one for each set of general officers, one for the high officers and commanders, etc.
