Final Chapter for a Heartless Demon Tsuki’s last stand By 666akatsuki ((I was bored and decided to write a possible death that Tsuki may fall victim too. No, I’m not going to kill her in roleplay... yet.))Chapter One: It begins The sun hung high in the afternoon sky where a few clouds scattered across the vast blue emptiness. Tsuki stood upon the balcony of the great building within Xia Pi where she lived. Her emerald eyes glared at the nothingness of the mountains as everything remain still and silent. She had been stood there from the mid morning and had not once seen a single thing that drew her attention; a silent sigh escaped her lips as she turned around and headed back indoors. She steadily make her way down the stairs into the great hall that would take her out to streets but a sound from a neighbouring corridor caught her attention and she halted, her body frozen in place as her eyes drifted towards the source of the sound. She saw nothing and continued forward only to be tackled from behind and dragged to ground. She thrashed about like a wild animal as she tried to escape, screaming for help from the guards; none came. She finally freed a hand and punched the attacker and crawled away. She scrambled to her feet and spun around to deliver a second blow but she froze when she saw the face of her brother, Yamato. Yamato chuckled and rubbed his sore nose with a rather stupid smile on his face. “You always were a wild one; at least you haven’t lost your strength dear sister.” He spoke as he hugged her gently and backed off after seeing the rage in her eyes. “I know, it was wrong of me to do that but it was part of a bet with Toboe. We were doing dares over a game of Go.” He chuckled, he felt embarrassed about losing to a seven year old but yet he was proud of the intelligence of the son of Tsuki. Tsuki wanted to hurt Yamato for playing such a dirty trick but she swallowed her rage and smiled softly at him. “Just don’t do that next time; my heart can’t take much more scares from you lot.” She replied and whistled at the shadows and watched as a sorry looking boy walked out. “Toboe, you’re the one I should be blaming. Now why were you trying to scare the living day-lights out your mother?” Tsuki asked as she crossed her arms and stared down upon her son. Toboe looked down at the floor and bit his lip slightly before gazing up at his mother. “I thought you would laugh, you’ve been under so much stress that you barely play with me anymore.” He whined, just about in tears. Tsuki’s heart ached and she knelt down and hugged him tightly to comfort him. “I’m very sorry, I didn’t realise you were missing me that much. How about we go out to meadow with uncle Yamato for a day-out?” She offered and watched as Toboe’s face brightened up. “Really?! I’ll get my sword!” Toboe spoke as he rushed to find his toy wooden sword to take along with him. Once Toboe was out of sight Tsuki turned to face Yamato. “Brother, how are the lines holding up against those bandits?” She asked but she frowned from the expression upon Yamato’s face. “Not good, we’re running low on supplies but the bandits appear to be thinner in number. If we can hold up a little longer we can win this fight and break through to the capital for more supplies. Are you sure it’s safe to be going up to the meadow?” Yamato questioned knowing that the bandits would do anything to take out Tsuki and the child of the true ruler of Xia Pi. Tsuki sighed but smiled again and placed a hand upon Yamato’s shoulder. “I’m certain we’ll be safe, the bandits are scared of a rumour about that meadow. After all, it is the meadow of curses and nightmares so we will be okay.” She replied knowing the curses to be false. She was about to continue asking about the rebel units but Toboe appeared with his little wooden sword. “Come on mum! Let’s go!” He shouted and jumped about Tsuki and Yamato and waved his sword about in excitement. Tsuki sighed and took Toboe’s hand and started walking with him and had Yamato following behind as they wandered through the streets and left out the west gate towards the meadow. They had remained silent whilst travelling but as soon as they arrived within the cursed land Tsuki released Toboe and let her son run through the flowers and play warrior with Yamato. She walked through the flowers, extending her hand out to feel the flowers brush against her fingers. She sighed softly and breathed in to smell the sweet heavenly scent in the air, it brought peace upon her. She settled down in the grass and watched the two of her special boys play together, Toboe pretended to be a warrior of Wei and made Yamato a rebel bandit and Toboe was to slay him. Tsuki giggled as Toboe hit Yamato with the stick and watched as Yamato fell and begged for mercy. She knew that one day Toboe would grow to become a warrior and would slay bandits and warriors alike in order to achieve peace for China. She sighed and laid in the grass on her side, she was growing older and soon Toboe would have to live without her by his side. She didn’t want to think about it but she knew there was no escaping that terrible fact of life, all she wanted was to live long enough to see Toboe through his first battle under the Wei banner. She closed her eyes and drifted into a light sleep within the flowers “MOTHER!!” Tsuki jolted from her sleep and sat up at the sound of Toboe screaming. She glanced around herself and spotted Yamato fighting off three large bandits but Toboe was nowhere in sight. “TOBOE!” Tsuki shouted, her heart racing with fear at the thought of the worst thing happening. She ran through the grass and found Toboe laying still, she started whimpering and crying thinking that he was dead but he jumped up and hugged her tightly. She was thankful that Toboe was safe but her attention was now locked upon her brother. Yamato was covered with blood, some of it his but most of it from the bandits. “Tsuki, take Toboe and run! I’ll catch up.” Yamato shouted as he cut down one bandit and charged the other two. Tsuki picked Toboe up and started running back towards the safety of Xia Pi. She prayed that Yamato would return alive but she had to protect Toboe first. She didn't care that the branches from the trees scratched her face open; all she wanted was to reach her home. After much running she finally arrived at the West Gate and was allowed in. She made it to the grand building and took Toboe inside and took him straight to his room. Toboe was crying loudly and Tsuki sat on the bed and held him tightly; tears fell from both of them in fear of Yamato's fate. They could only pray of his return.

*WARNING: contains gore* Final Chapter for a Heartless Demon Tsuki’s Last Stand
Chapter Two: The Wolf Falls Tsuki stood at the entrance of the grand building; she waited and waited for Yamato’s return but no sign of him showed. Swiftly her hope of ever seeing her brother again faded like the light of the setting sun. She fell to her knees and laid upon the floor, whimpering loudly in the empty hall with no one to hear her sobs. She remained there and fell asleep upon the cold stone floor with only the feeling of hollowness in her heart. Toboe was asleep in his room suffering much like his mother and he wished his father would return to help Tsuki but he knew his father was off fighting a great war. Both were unsettled during their dreams. It had only just passed mid-night but a sound roused Tsuki from her slumber. She struggled to her feet and listened carefully to her surroundings then glared at the door. It was open and everything was dark and silent; her heart filled with fear as the sound of something moving through the shadows circled around her. “Yamato... is that you?” She spoke, her voice low and shaky. The shadow paused and seemed to respond to the name of ‘Yamato’. Tsuki started to relax thinking that Yamato was just playing around; she stepped forward and smiled but a surge of pain came from her left shoulder. She turned her head and saw an arrow sticking out of it. She stared at the shadow and watched as the glint of another arrow shone through the darkness and was aimed at her once more. Her eyes widened in horror and she turned to run but the arrow drove deep into her lower back, a cry of pain escaped her lips and she fell to the ground. She grabbed the arrow in her shoulder and snapped the wooden part so it wouldn’t be in the way then she scrambled across the ground towards the corridor that would take her to the weapons room. Arrows hit the ground around her as she crawled like a wounded animal and left a trail of blood behind her. She soon reached the weapon room and got to her feet and picked her metal claws up and wore them and then gazed at her reflection in the metal. “It’s been a while since I last fought.” She whispered as she heard the heavy footsteps coming down the corridor. She waited in silence until the man came into the room where she brought the claws down upon his face, ripping the flesh from his facial bones and let him scream in terror. The smell of blood drifted up Tsuki’s nose and she shivered with joy. It was something she hadn’t smelled for a long time and she enjoyed every second of it. She sliced into the man without mercy or thought and by the time the guards appeared the man was smeared across the floor and walls and torn beyond recognition. Tsuki breathed heavily from exhaustion before she collapsed in the arms of a guard who took her to a medical room where the arrows were carefully removed and her wounds treated with special herbs before bandages were put on to protect the gapping arrow holes. Tsuki sighed in pain as she was taken to her room to rest, already fast asleep. Tsuki twitched in her slumber as she dreamt of Yamato’s dead body in the field. She was standing there, watching him. The flowers and plants around his corpse died and soon the valley turned black and the sky swirled with dark blues and purples and a large crimson eye opened up in the middle. The clouds folded down and landed and slowly took the form of a large wolf like creature with long horns. The clouds faded leaving a black coated demon which was the guardian of the Yomi clan. Tsuki stepped back but her foot sank into the rotting black liquid that used to be flowers. “Why do you back away? Do you fear me, child?” The creature spoke as it approached Tsuki, the black lips pulled back to reveal the glinting white fangs that called out to her. She whimpered and fell down into the black liquid and backed away from the demon. “I am Tsukuyomi, the guardian of you. I serve you and your brother. Your son has no guardian, you must find him one.” Tsukuyomi spoke as it stood over Tsuki; it’s face slowly melted and it’s body oozed down upon Tsuki and drowned her within her nightmare. Tsuki woke up screaming in horror, she felt the bed sheets and they were wet from her sweat. She gasped heavily and whined in pain as she gazed around the room at the shadows. She slowly rolled out of bed and started walking through the endless corridors in search of her mind. Were demons real? Was Toboe unprotected due to the lack of a clan guardian? She sighed and leaned against the wall and rubbed her head, she was so confused and scared by everything. She staggered onwards through the darkness. Morning was fast approaching and Tsuki had not returned to her chamber. She sighed and stopped for a break again by leaning against another wall but something bothered her as she heard a scrapping sound then a clang near a window. She slowly approached the window and gazed out of it and saw nothing. “Maybe it was a bird.” She whispered but something rammed into her and pinned her against the wall. The rebel this time was different, he was tall and thin and draped in pure black. She struggled about helplessly under the strength of the individual. She tried to scream for help but he covered her mouth and forced her to the floor, he laid on top of her and stared her in the eye and Tsuki knew what he wanted. Her heart raced with fear, not again.... she didn’t want her past to be repeated. She continued to put the fight up against him as he tried to wrestle her to gain control but her spirit was proving harder to tame. She soon wriggled free and she sprinted down the corridor to seek safety but the man proved faster as she was slammed into the wall once more. Unfortunately it was outside Toboe’s room and the thump of Tsuki colliding with the wall woke him up. Toboe could hear the struggling and he picked up his wooden sword that was next to his bed and he walked up to his door. He held it ready and opened the door. The rebel saw the door open and smashed Tsuki to the ground and turned upon Toboe as he drew a dagger and knew that it was the boy he was looking for. He smirked under the cloth mask and slashed at Toboe. A scream echoed through the corridors and then everything fell under silence. A few minutes passed but to the living it felt like an eternity as the sound of blood dripping from wounds to the floors broke the silence. Tsuki whimpered as she staggered backwards, her body torn open and her innards spilling forth. In her right hand she held the cloth mask and tears of sorrow rolled down her cheeks as she stared the man in the face. “Techi....” She whispered as she fell backwards and laid on her side in front of Toboe. Toboe felt ill as he stared at the body of his dead mother, he knelt beside her and tried to wake her up. “Mother... please get up... mother?” He whispered before he cried aloud and tugged at her arm in a desperate plea to make her get up. His sobs and whimpers echoed but they didn’t reach the cold heart of Techi who stood over Tsuki’s lifeless body and weeping child. He held his dagger up and glared at Toboe as he leaned down and grabbed Toboe by the hair and pulled his head back to expose the defenceless throat. The cold metal pressed against Toboe’s skin but it was suddenly pulled away again and he was released. Techi sat in shock as he fell onto his side, the blade of a long-sword sticking out of his chest. He tilted his head and saw a beaten Yamato standing over him. “I warned Tsuki... but she never listened.” He spoke as he crushed Techi’s head under his boot and then turned upon Toboe. He picked the child up and hugged him softly to comfort him. “I deliver upon you the spirit of the white Tsukuyomi.” He whispered as he gave Toboe a necklace with a white fang on it. He stepped over the body of Tsuki and made his way down the corridors to take Toboe back to the capital to deliver the news of the fall of a Lone Wolf and the controller of the Black Tsukuyomi.
