I was bored and all, and I wanted to share some stuff with you guys. So, about horses. I got all of the below from Dynasty Warriors 5, so don't accuse me of false information even if it doesn't work at all on other games.
Shadow Runner is the only horse in the game to have no NPC rider. All others are ridden as follows:
Red Hare - Lu Bu
Hex Mark - Liu Bei
Storm Runner - Pang De
Elephant - (I think...) THE NANMAN
If you press down the guard/stop button on horseback and try gently ramming into your second player's dismounted horse, it CAN be pushed onto high, normally non-accessible ledges, where the second player can remount it there. I'm not saying that the glitch WILL work; it often does.
If you have Ma Chao/Pang De/Zhou Tai (I prefer the first) and are on Shadow Runner, just press down the guard/stop button and strafe around while normal attacking. You won't get hit AT ALL, or only once or twice, even on Chaos.
If your character can't swing to one side on horseback, don't even try battling on your horse. It looks ridiculous.
If you start a battle with Shadow Runner, and your second player has Red Hare, and you swap horses... Your Red Hare will still have the effect of Shadow Runner, with more speed. This means that the second player will have to yield every time.
Huang Gai's bombs can drop allies off their horses. This means that if you are annoyed by his running speed, you can take an easy ride from... let's say Sun Jian's white steed.
