Kouji had always wanted to be a warrior but his father forbid it since Kouji's purpose was to marry a daughter from one of the other high ranked families and create heirs for the family. Kouji never liked the idea but he didn't speak out against his father.
Kouji was taken to the harbour one day to meet the woman he was meant to marry but instead found the pirates at the docks who were being led by a man called Rui. Immediately Kouji desired to join them and actually get some action in his life. Kouji abandoned his family and joined the pirates as soon as he could.
Kouji dropped his old name and changed it so his family could not locate him anymore. He dreams of becoming the greatest pirate of them all, his dream is to be the King of all Pirates.
