M A S A A K I H I E I Name: Masaaki HieiPronounciation: Ma-Sa-Aa-Ki Hee-YayAge: 24Height: 5'10''Weight: 125 LBSPersonality:Hiei's personality would best be described as a complexity. In fact, the only thing certain about him is that he is definitely not the friendliest guy you would ever meet. Having grown up in the company of killers, bandits and assassins, Hiei has grown to be quite independent, albeit having a dark perspective on life. He trusts no one with his life and does not believe that there will ever be perfect peace in even the smallest of lands. He believes that it was part of human nature to create chaos and thus allows himself to relish in that 'nature'.
Growing up in a lifestyle where everyone was a potential enemy, Hiei has grown to be a bit of a loner. He also has adept analytical skills and a set of considerably sharpened senses, capabilities that have allowed him to live this long. He is ruthless and lethal and does not hesitate to take the life of another that holds no or little value for him. And considering his personality, there is not many people like that.
Also, Hiei has a sort of manipulative side of him. With a cunning mindset, an analytical mind and a sharp tongue, Hiei is able to talk his way out of almost every situation, and has a way of getting things out of the toughest of people. Words can be sharper than swords, after all. More often than not, Hiei has a habit of taunting his enemy into a mistake and then capitalising on it. Dishonorable, probably, but Hiei could only care less about that.
He also allows him to find some thrill in his line of work. That is, he tries to find as much enjoyment as he could on killing. And for him, the best type of entertainment in the battlefield was the kind that could really cross swords with him and give him a challenge. Not once has Hiei ever been beaten to a duel too, his worst result being only a tie. And he prides in this fact.
Also, Hiei does not like having people under him. Leadership-wise, he is not the best of choices. True, he has a better-than-average rasp of strategy, but that is all he has. For morale, Hiei would have to depend on his ability to kill to motivate and also frighten his troops into combat.
He enjoys the simple pleasures of life too, of course. Wine, women and gold are such examples of his 'simple pleasures'. There's no saying that he doesn't try to have fun too. He doesn't look for trouble all the time. He just does not really consider these people as truly his friends. That is really a rare word for Hiei.

Appearance: Hiei stands at 5'10'', weighing 125 LBS, which is considered a good weight-height combination for a man of his age and stature. He is not too buff, going more to the lean side, focusing his body growth on tone more instead of size. As such, he looks somewhat skinny, though in fact, under those clothing, he holds a well-defined body with curves at all the right places. He has a fair skin complexion and surprisingly, his body holds very little scars, those most visible being places covered by cloth.
One distinctive part of his appearance would be his hair. It is long, his tails reaching mid-way down his neck and the rest of his hair increasing in volume as it goes upwards, thus causing it to stick out, giving him a sort of messy yet mysterious look. However, that is not what makes it so distinctive. What does, however, is the crimson-dyed streaks that is scattered all over his hair. This gives it the illusion of blood being splattered on a black wall.
Another distinctive part of his appearance would be his red eyes. His eyes are naturally, and not only that, but the shade of red is almost similar to that of freshly shed blood. Once more, another part of Hiei's appearance reminds his company his affinity with blood and death. Despite the somewhat bright color, Hiei's eyes give off a pretty cold look, making him a lot less approachable than he already is.
Other than that, he is pretty attractive, his face heart-shaped, pimple-less and wrinke-less. He has a straight nose. One could never tell the number of times it had been broken before. He also has thin dark red lips that gives Hiei a lot of emotions and expressions to work with. Weapons:- Raven Fists
A pair of onyx gloves created from black steel, a material that his assassin clan had harvested and made use of, the Raven Fists is the most commonly used weapon by Hiei, for it is the weapon that he equips whenever he rides into battle. Being a professional martial artist, these gloves are made even more lethal in his arms. With every punch, swipe, back hand or even a mere slap, Hiei would have the ability to draw the blood of his enemies. Also, with the blades attached, Hiei is able to parry incoming blades and other weapons.
Strength: Due to its lack of extension, it is easy for Hiei to control this weapon. He is able to pull the weapon back and parry blow after blow with ease, as there is no extra weight or leverage to work with. Also, it allows for other functions like grabbing.
Weakness: Simply, its lack of reach. As it does not offer any extension of sorts, Hiei has to really get up close and person to strike his opponents. Such is a difficulty indeed, especially in a large battle when the enemies would have supports standing right beside him.
- Heikage
And this is Hiei's signature sword, left behind to him by the only man that he had considered a friend, Aza. The blade, like the rest of his weapons, are made from black steel, though this blade has been fortified and hardened with diamond, a wonder that only Aza has been able to achieve in the clan. This was his last work before dying, and has become a precious weapon for the assassin. As a result, he barely draws it to draw the blood of mere pawns, instead taking it out only when someone of challenge appears in front of him. The sword is about 4 feet long, with the hilt and guard making up 1 feet of the total length.
Strength: Unlike the Raven Fist, this weapon has reach. It is also both hard and sharp at the same time, having the capability to cut even diamonds, as its edge is made up of the same material. Due to its color too, it would be hard to judge the position and reach of the weapon in shadow.
Weakness: A sword will simply be a sword. It still has limited reach and an even more limited amount of functions. Parry, slash, stab, it is difficult to use against spear-users and also on horse-back. Plus, it takes up one of Hiei's hands, hampering then his martial arts abilities.
- Death and Despair
Death and Despair, Hiei's twin short swords, a weapon that Hiei uses for assassination campaigns, for it is those times that Hiei would have to make quick and quiet kills. The length of the weapon allows Hiei to move it around in limited space, but also gives him the space to kill an opponent without making himself visible. Sharp, thin and light, it can cut or stab deep into the bodies of his victims. And it also has the potential to be thrown at enemies in short distances. Also made up of black steel. The blades are a feet long, with the hilt and guard being half of that. The metal studs at the end of the hilt allows for hard blunt hitting action.
Strength: Light, flimsy and easy to use, Hiei is able to pick off guards and targets swiftly and quietly, with a simple slice or stab at vital areas. Also, as it is black, it makes it hard t see the weapons coming at you in the shadow of night.
Weakness: It does not have much reach and is thus rendered useless when it comes to head-to-head combat. Though he still has the capability to fight, his skills will not be as efficient as when holding Heikage, or having just the Raven Fists. These weapons were made with the use of assassination in mind.
Armor:Simple
The standard attire of an assassin from Hiei's clan, the Kougu. It does not hold much defensive armor, save the metal shoulder pads that protect the arms, for the Kougu believe them to be a man's strongest weapons. Usually, a black or white scarf is worn around the neck, depending on the rank of the assassin involved, but in Hiei's case, he clads a red scarf, another keepsake of his old friend, Aza. He wears a simple brown tunic then, with a red line running down vertically, the mark being as wide as his neck. Around his waist, Hiei wears a large brown leather belt that then holds the hilts of Death and Despair.
Heikage is then kept on his back, the sheathe strapped onto his right shoulder pad and the left side of his belt, with Death and Despair sheathed in a cross pattern behind his back, the hilt sticking out just a bit. Following that is a pair of black loose pants that allow for easy and quick movement, and finally, a pair of black leather boots, the pants tucked into the footwear. The boots are made of soft leather, allowing traverse in all kinds of terrain.
On his right hand, Hiei wears that runs down to his wrist, though is mostly not seen due to his Raven Fists. His left arm is open, though, covered not by any sleeve.

History:Believe it or not, Hiei was actually born to royalty. He was the son of a mighty lord in feudal Japan, a man who had been said to be destined for greatness. However, when Hiei was born, he was seen to be a curse, for his mother had died giving birth to him. Also, the fact that he had red eyes was seen as an omen by the religious lord and his subjects. From the day Hiei was born, he was shunned and condemned already. However, with the wishes of Hiei's mother, his father found himself unable to kill Hiei and so, he simply began to train Hiei to become a weapon for him, and when another heir to the throne was born, to be that heir's shield.
Hiei was simply a tool.
When Hiei turned eight, then, his father remarried and Hiei's stepmother bore the son that was to take Hiei's place as the heir to the lordship, though he never had the position to begin with. Hiei was still a lost and confused child then, and one day, when his lord left the castle to tend to a band of bandits and assassins that had been terrorising their lands for a while. It was then that the lord came home to find Hiei standing bloodied in his room, his second wife found dead on the bed with her stomach sliced open.
Shocked to death by the monstrosity that was his son, he threw him out of the castle and left him to fend for his own outside the walls of the place he used to call home. Much to his fortune, however, Hiei was then picked up by the same bandits and assassins that his father had almost wiped out. And they retreated the lands with him in tow. Why? Because they had lost a lot of men, and they wanted to regain their numbers.
And so, under the watch of these assassins, Hiei was trained to become one of them. And with the experience he had already gained from his father, Hiei picked up the arts quickly and was soon tasked his first hunt at the young age of sixteen. And from then on, Hiei made his name known in the Kougu clan, the name of the band of bandits and assassins. With Raven Fists and Death And Despair, Hiei had an almost 100% success rate in his missions. He also made a friend named Aza, which was the apprentice blacksmith for the clan.
Then, one day, as Hiei returned from a mission, he suddenly found the camp in flames, with bodies strewn all over the places, the picture being burnt into Hiei's mind. The people that he had come to know as his family had been taken from him once more, and apparently, it was by the same person too. His father had found the camp while he was away, and had ambushed and slaughtered everyone here. The first person that Hiei went to check on was Aza, then. And he was relieved to find that he was still alive, though barely.
Then, with his dying words, Aza directed Hiei to the location where he hid Heikage, a weapon that he said was his greatest achievement and his legacy. Swearing to avenge his friend, he took Aza's scarf, dyed it completely in his friend's blood, before taking both that and the Heikage back to his original hometown. And there, with bombs and explosives and fire and confusion, he wrecked havoc on the city on just his own. And using those as a distraction, he sneaked into the capital and murdered the remaining guards, even the man that had taught Hiei when he was younger. And all these was done in the throne room, as his father watched from the throne, still surrounded by a dozen guards, as Hiei took down his fifteenth kill. Then, from the distance, he would toss Heikage forward, and the blade would dig deep into his father's chest. With revenge exacted, Hiei would then mercilessly slaughter the remaining guards, before finally making his escape. With no one left to stop him, Hiei would begin his life as a wanderer as he roamed around Japan, taking jobs as his form of income.
Then, one day, he heard about the state of chaos in China and figured that he could make better gold there. With that in mind, Hiei travelled to China, hoping to earn more money and also to challenge to strongest swordsmen in this country.
