Post by Lu Xia on Jul 9, 2010 5:27:12 GMT
Name: Lu Xia
Age: 19
Residence: Jian Ye
Appearance:
Youthful, fair skinned and with jet black hair, Xia is a fair creature. Her features are smooth and soft, her figure slim and slender, very feminine and healthy. She has no marks or blemishes, no scars to marr her skin. Her beauty is well known around the area, it's said her smile can charm a butterfly. She usually dresses in light and flowy gowns, expensive garments made of the finest materials. She doesn't use much for makeup or jewelry, only using a few hairpins in her long dark hair. Her usual colors are pink, blue or red.
Personality: For the most part, Xia is a pretty proper young woman, as is expected of her. She's very neat, fairly formal, and obedient to her superiors. But she is still her own person, and young. She is clever and likes to live by her wits, but youth leaves room for lack of knowledge. She is kind and sweet, but not all too soft. She's hard to anger, but any young woman can get upset and has the capacity for bitterness. Xia has a certain love for all things graceful, even in battle. Though she hasn't had much for battle experience, she dreams of one day becoming a warrior.
Weapon: Battle Fans - Weapons designed from the ideals of grace and swiftness, they make excellent offensive tools if used properly. Made entirely from resilient blades, they also look pretty intimidating. Lu Xia had them made for her after learning to fight with a simple wooden version. When folded, they can also make good blunt weapons.
Weapon Strengths: Quick, fluid and sharp, these fans can deal some good damage on flesh and cut through weaker armor.
Weapon Weaknesses: The fans, while they look like good defensive tools, risk the chance of being broken if used as such. They also unable to damage decent armor with the blade edges.
Armour: For armor, Lu Xia had made for her a silver scale bodice with shoulder plates, bracers, boot covers, and thigh pads. For her face, she also had crafted a plain silver face mask for protection. The design is fairly simple, only bearing engravings of birds and flowers around the borders. The armor goes over any suit that will fit underneath. The armor hasn't been used yet, but Lu Xia hopes that one day it will come in handy.
History: Born the only daughter of the wealthy strategist Lu Su, Lu Xia was the last of four children. Lu Xia's mother died of illness when she was just a child, causing Xia to turn to her father for any parental guidance and affection. Growing up, she developed a close bond with her father and three brothers. Quite a comfortable family, they all looked out for each other. Since her family was wealthy and well known, Lu Xia was not only raised in good living, but raised and groomed to be a proper and prim young lady. She was naturally beautiful, which made her ever more valuable to the family. Of course, it caused some fuss over her as a child and further on, as if she were some defenseless and delicate flower to be tended to at all times.
Lu Xia often watched her brother Lu Xan, who was, as the eldest, a capable warrior who trained to become a general. It was through this that she admired his skill and aspired to ascend beyond nobility and become a great warrior herself. As Xia was taught all the feminine things expected to be known by any noble lady like her, she dreamed on and wondered of ways to reach her goal. She found the doorway in a peculiar form, learning that the fans she often danced with could be replicated as weapons. They turned out to be successful combat tools, and Lu Xia would teach herself in her free time alone. While her father and brothers disapproved of this behavior, they dismissed it as just a dream and figured there was no harm should she learn to defend herself.
Soon Lu Xia grew into a young woman, a time where her family would pay even more attention to her for she was still unwed. Lu Xia didn't really like the idea of being married off, especially with the suitors that visited her, and her father was pretty reluctant to give away his only daughter. So she stays at the family manor, still training and doing the work and such expected of her, until something calls her to action, whatever it may be.
