OOC: Name: Get Clean Difficulty: Medium Mod:No Description: A bounty is on your head, whether its correct or not it'd be best not to step in town for a few days. Try to get rid of the heat or buy the law off - Its your call. IC:
It was insulting. It was ridiculous. She had done nothing wrong. Yet here she was, being blamed. Da let out a deep breath to calm herself. She needed to stop thinking of it like that. She knew that they were incorrect. She just had to find a way to let them see it. And hopefully she could.
Da Qiao didn't care about her title. It was the fact someone had accused her of committing murder. Her, of all people. She smiled to herself slightly. Yelena would laugh at it. She looked at the small pond of frozen water. She saw herself, her reflection.
No fear in her eyes, nothing. She had sent a little girl to deliver a message to "the law". She wasn't going to fight anyone. It wasn't worth fighting over. Surely, there was a mix up. Da shivered slightly and pulled the hood over her head, hugging her cloak to her. She had her weapons, just in case things went wrong. Though she dearly hoped they didn't.
If worse came to worse, she'd buy the bounty off her head. on her head was fifty gold. Seventy-five should make it go away. Or she hoped so. Da didn't want to run away from it. But she knew better than to go into the city. She sat down, her fingers moving over her fans, hidden under the cloak. They were more than a weapon to her. They were part of her, a defense.
~Three Hours Later~
Time passed by, and most would be upset at having to wait so long. The moon was coming up, and she heard noise. Not one footsteps. About six, she'd guess. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She carefully lit the fire that had burnt out hours ago, and looked around her. seven men. Carefully dressed, each with a weapon, was illuminated by the fire.
Da removed her cloak, reveling a red outfit that was similar to the one she constantly wore. High stockings that went to her mid thigh. A blue ruffled skirt, with a pink wrap around half of her waist. Long sleeved top, puffy almost. and then a red wrap around that, with gold. She didn't make a move to reach toward her weapons. Instead she looked at one of the men. They had made a circle around her.
As one charged toward her, Da did an akido roll to avoid the attack. Then she swung her legs out, so the man fell down to the ground. Moving quickly, she kicked the sword out of his hand and took the rope that was on his belt. She wrapped his hands behind his back, and then looked up at the other men.
There was no way she was going to draw her weapons, at any time. She wasn't going to fight them, just because they wanted to capture her. Standing up, she moved away from the men, slipping her feet apart so she was in a better position.
"Now, now pretty. Why dont we just tie you up and take you in. We wont hurt you, unless you want it." The man was the biggest and he winked at her. Da was completely disgusted, but didn't let it show that it bothered her. That would be a weakness. She raised one eyebrow and stared at him.
He made the first move, coming toward her so he was less than a foot away. he held his sword in both hands and stepped toward her. she "fell" to the ground, feet kicking out to get him to fall. He fell, but rolled over to get on top of her. She used the side of her hand to hit him over the head hard, and rolled out from under him, gasping.
Da Qiao glanced at him. He was out cold. Just hopefully she hadn't hit his temple area too hard.
For the next hour, the rest of the men went down in a similar way compared to the first two had gone down. Da Qiao looked around her and winced. She checked the pulse on one of them who had hit his head on a rock as he had went down. He seemed to be okay.
She heard more noise and sighed to herself. Not another fight. She didn't want to do this. Da looked up and saw the man who she was supposed to meet before. "Your men, sir?" She asked, not surprised when he nodded.
He circled her and smiled. She stood straight and tall, a Lady of Wu. Then he looked at his men. "I'm surprised. Most would have killed them. Yet you fought them, knocked them out to prevent yourself from harm and didn't use a weapon. Amazing." He looked at her and smiled, his eyes going gentle.
"why didn't you fight them, Da Qiao? You could have killed them and ran. Yet you stayed and fought them, yet when you were done, you made sure they would suffer no permanent damage. Why?" He asked, stopping in front of her.
Da looked him in the eyes, a tear sparkling in her eyes at what she had done. "Money is not worth, taking a life. nothing is worth it. I wouldn't bloody my hands, when i could remove the threat without killing anyone." She responded, her voice even and calm.
He grinned wide. "I dont think you could ever take a life unless it'd be needed... You didn't run, instead you stayed and fought because you knew you were innocent." He took her hand and kissed it. "It'll be gone by morning." he said, winking.
