Fishing with a Friend(Cheng Pu)

Zhi Fang sat down right at his normal spot at the river. He pulled out the thread in his pack and began to put it on his fishing rod. Ever since Zhi got to Jiang Dong, fishing was one of his favorite things to do. It let him think about things. Zhi stood up, cast his fishing line, and sat back down trying to relax while he waited for a fish to come. Zhi looked towards the road and saw a new friend of his coming his way with a fishing rod in tow. That friend was Cheng Pu.

An hour or two of recreation was always useful and healthy. Always work, work, work wasn't really all that necessary anyway. Yes, even Cheng Pu cared to take a rest and do something fun. No silly games, though, but still a favorite pastime and an activity that always will be a very entertaining way to spend his spare hours. There was a spot on the banks of the river near the city where there were plenty of fish to catch; there would be where Demou headed for.

Fishing rod, some worms for bait, as well as a water-filled bucket to store the fish he caught well and alive, Cheng Demou merrily trudged along the muddy banks of the river as he walked quietly toward the place he would choose. A cluster of rocks would be a comfortable place to sit upon as well as set his belongings around and begin fishing, and what a surprise. None other than Zhi Fang sitting there, as if knowing of Demou's arrival and waiting to meet him.

"Greetings, Zhi Fang. Mind if I join you here?"

"Hey Cheng, of course you can join. It is always better to fish with a friend."Zhi smiled at the fellow Wu officer. Suddenly, Zhi's line jerked hard as a fish took the bait and quickly raced towards the other direction. Zhi quickly stood up, and pulled with all his might. Though the fish gave up and swam away. Disapointed, Zhi said, "So, how long have you been coming down here to fish Cheng Pu?"

"Quite some time, actually. Ever since I began to reside in the area of Wu, in fact. Fishing is a constant activity that I enjoy participating in."

Placing himself on a rock next to Zhi Fang, Cheng Pu put the bucket and container of bait down on the mud next to him and lifted up his fishing rod. The hook was nice and clean, as he carefully yet skillfully pierced a wriggling worm on the end, the creature still well alive even on the hook. Casting the line into the water, Demou waited for a fish to grab the fresh and vulnerable worm, the bait to be barely bitten before he would drag the fish out.

"Do you come here often?"

Zhi watched Cheng Pu set up his fishing rod as Cheng answered Zhi's question. Zhi could tell that Cheng fished a lot and that it was one of his favorite thing to do."When I was riding down here to Jiang Dong, I rode past this area. As soon as I saw the river, my mind went at ease. This place is where I go to when I want to relax and calm my mind. So I try to come over here, to fish, as much as possibe. I am glad to see a friend here that I can talk to."

"Indeed, it's nice to see that a comrade finds his rest here as well. We should meet here more often if you have the time, no?"

Smiling, Cheng Pu felt a small surge in the fishing rod before he flicked the line, hook, bait, and his prey out, the idiotic victim known as fish dangling onto the hook, pierced into his mouth. Firmly grabbing the fish by the tail to prevent it from spluttering about too much, Demou was slightly disappointed at the size of the fish, so tiny. No wonder it had been such a quick and easy catch. Dropping the fish into the water-filled bucket, Demou cast the line again, since the worm was still alive.

"How is your service under Lord Sun Jian so far?"

[Cao Cao]

"Of course we should meet here more. Well that was fast, you already caught a fish."Said Zhi as he checked his line which has had no movement since that fish got away. Zhi took the line back and he saw that there was no worm on there. Quick fix though, Zhi put a worm on the hook and he cast his line back into the water. "It has been going great so far. This place is beautiful and the people are so happy here. Those things I mentioned, I shall fight for."

"Are you looking forward to joining us in a battle? Zhang Jiao may have been eliminated before my eyes, but his followers still remain in large numbers. Leaderless, but a standing threat nonetheless." Looking at his line to see if any fish had caught, Cheng Pu turned his gaze but to Zhi Fang as he waited for something to grab onto the worm underwater.

[Cao Cao]

"That is what I came here for, to help our lord in any ways possible, though mostly battle. I want to help you wipe out the remneants of the Yellow Turbans and anybody else who get's in our lord's way. So how long have you been serving our lord Cheng Pu?"As Zhi said this, he got a bite and Zhi pulled and pulled out of the water a Koy fish."Look, a Koy. They are so beautiful!"

"Excellent. As well, I foresee further threats in the future; the Turbans won't be the finale of this endless conflict. It is great to have your participation. And I have been serving Lord Sun Jian ever since he has raised his army up to attack the Yellow Turbans, not too long ago, actually."

Smiling and nodding as he saw the Koy fish that Zhi Fang had caught, Cheng Pu watched the fish splutter about as it struggled to live, when it had met its apparent fate at the hands of the superior fisher. It was an inevitable fate for the prey, fortunate or not.

"We should engage in a friendly duel sometime, no? My friend Han Dang would also be eager to battle one like you."

[Cao Cao]

Zhi pulled out a knife from his pack. It was time to put the fish out of his misery. Zhi with a mighty slice, cut the Koy's head off. It would only feel it for a second. Zhi began to wipe the fish off when he told Cheng Pu,"Sure, that would be wonderful. I needed to see how my strength and skill matches up with a fellow officer of Wu. When would you like to duel my friend?"

"How about after we finish fishing up a few more fish? I do have my Serpent Spear with me here, but I would rather we use safer equipment, wooden swords and spears, maybe?"

Cheng Pu watched Zhi Fang cut the Koy's head off and kill it, in contrast to Demou's action of throwing the fish alive into the water bucket to swim there, so that he can count it later before releasing them to survive hopefully.

"Can you handle weapons other than a longsword?"

[Cao Cao]

"Sure, I am fine with wooden weapons. I shall just use a wooden sword. This shall be good. Oh almost forgot, is there like a dueling ring in the city or a special place you like to go to for duels Cheng Pu." (OOC:Sorry for not writing much. It's all I could think of.)

"Sounds great," Cheng Pu replied as he pulled out yet another fish from the river. "Let's just resume our fishing here for a while, then continue on our meeting with that duel we were talking about later in the city.
