Name: Lute Saika
Age: 21
Residence: Ye
Appearance:To start, Lute has semi-long hair, reaching down to his eyebrows in the front and being a blond color. It is nearly always messed up and being toyed with by the wind. Next his eyes are a brilliant blue, often being referred to by others as sapphires. His face seems to be on average proportion with the average man as well as his height, being a little over 6 foot. His build is not anything to brag about. He has tone muscles but nothing that would be bulging out of his sleeves or ripping any of his clothing. One can see that he was trained more for speed and agility then for raw physical power.
As far as his clothes go he pretty much wears the same thing to battle as he would out in the streets of a city. He wears a bright white silk shirt that hangs loosely from his body. Up the front of it, to the left, is a bright blue streak that curves around his body until it reaches the back. This shirt if parted at the middle and shows off a black shirt underneath it. This shirt is a little more form fitting and is actually sleeveless. If anything should happen when the over shirt needs to be shed, this one would be easier to fight in.
His pants follow a completely different fashion, being less baggy and a little more effective. They are black and formfitting. This is so Lute can easily move around and isn’t caught on something which could mean his certain death. With such little armor, Lute knows it is completely necessary to never be touched, or if he is he needs to make sure it is a glancing blow so no real damage is done.
Personallity: Lute is an overall strange man who is misunderstood by most. The way he acts around most people is in a very regal and strict. He has been known to casually brush the hair from his eyes as well as straighten his attire in the middle of awkward silences or when he feels the need to be high up than those around him. One might think that Lute is simply putting on a show to those around him for one reason or another but in all actuality, Lute believes himself to be far greater than anyone he meets. This man has a serious superiority complex and he feels the need to shut everybody down as well as show them that he is vastly superior to them.
Another thing that is caused by his superiority complex is that Lute cannot stand being reduced to other people’s levels. If Lute were to walk through a low quality town he would be the first person to point out the place’s many flaws as well as be the first person to want to leave. Lute actually can’t stand being in places that he feels are so much below him. It gives him a sort of sinking feeling in his stomach and he usually complains more about how disgusting the place is. Not that this is exactly abnormal; Lute doesn’t really care if he points out other’s flaws. It is just more frequent when Lute feels he is forced into a place where he doesn’t belong.
Another thing that would be worth noting is that Lute can sometimes break down from what happens in his life. While he is in this state Lute is hardly himself. He rarely cares for his own appearance or what will be the results of his actions. He simply does as he pleases and rides his crazed trip until it finally ends. Normally public humiliation or the thoughts that are constantly swimming through his mind bring about these fits. The ideas and thoughts that can break Lute down are the thoughts of the lower beings around him. These outbreaks normally do not cause much damage because there is always someone there to bring Lute back to reality. So far, nothing that he has done was ever counted against him.
Back on a lighter note, Lute can actually be an alright guy if he finds someone he feels is worthy of his respect. The first judgment Lute makes towards someone being worthy or not is their physical appearance. Lute believes that one of the most important qualities is people are their looks. It is because of this that Lute might toss someone aside for simply not looking attractive. Still, the people that Lute finds friendship in are lucky. These people are few and far between, but are highly regarded in Lute’s mind. He normally looks out for his friends and would easily sacrifice his life for them.
The last thing worth touching on is that Lute holds himself in extremely high regards. He believes himself to be the greatest looking person to have ever lived. He might as well be god’s gift to mankind for being born with such amazing features. He has been known to toy around with his hair as well as enjoy his own reflection in mirrors. He is also extremely interested in his own mind. Lute sees himself as a genius not only when it comes too military, but also when it comes to all matters of life. Actually the human brain and how it functions is very intriguing to Lute and is matter he enjoys observing and studying. It is for this reason that he has deemed his own thoughts and ideas as superior to others. It is simply because he has seen how others things and it is inadequate. On that note, Lute’s favorite way to toy with people is on an emotional or psychological level; he enjoys chipping away at whatever it is that makes someone tick or whatever is pulling at their heart strings in order to really hurt them.
Weapon: A bow intended to be used in close combat quarters which is why it is shorter then the average bow. Also it is made of steel, so it can be used as a melee weapon, be used to block and deflect attacks and so its rigid properties will allow quick shots to be made. In most battles, Lute will carry this on his back so it can easily be accessed at any time. It is colored a deep almost brooding purple. Also, on the edges of the bow are thick blades. These are not on where Lute needs to hold it, so it can become an effective melee weapon when required.
It is of course difficult wield such a weapon in any sort of face to face combat. It is more or less used when an enemy surprise's Lute and he is currently holding his bow.
The arrows that Lute equips himself with are slightly different than the average arrows. Underneath the first arrowhead is another arrowhead. This gives the arrow a layered look with one tip on top of the first. Also, on the top arrow head are several spikes that are curved as the arrow head. This makes it so pulling the arrows out of the body can be a much more painful process than actually getting hit by them. It amused Lute to see someone cause himself so much pain deliberately.
Weapon Strengths: ^ addressed above.
Weapon Weaknesses: ^ addressed above.
Armor: In any sort of real combat situation, as in a skirmish or an organized battle, Lute will wear some light armor covering his chest, arms, head, legs and torso.
History: Lute was born into what would appear as a fairly normal family. As a boy, Lute was raised mostly by his mother with his father rarely being home. His father was an arms dealer, but it was apparent from their luxurious living style that he wasn’t your average arms dealer. Lute’s father was a man who would do whatever he could to make sure weapons and armor were in high demand. He had a slick tongue and a sharp wit; he used both of these things to create war between warring societies. It could be anything from bandits to cities that he cons into war.
Needless to say, Lute was kept in the dark about his father’s profession. In fact, in his younger days, Lute was an average, happy go lucky kid. He inherited his father’s brilliance and quick mind. He had a promising future, but as he grew older he began to understand exactly what it was that happened to his father’s clients. They were manipulated and toyed with like puppets. This initially conjured up feelings of hate and anger when he thought of the despair his father created in order to sustain this lifestyle. This caused Lute to spiral into a phase of depression and hatred for his father.
On day, the boy, now more of a teenager, decided to confront his father over his trade. His father seemed to have anticipated this day coming as he had the perfect speech for his son. He described how what he did allowed their family to live as they did. It also was just speeding up the inevitable. If two sides were feuding with each other, it was only a matter of time until they broke out into war. In the end, perhaps the most convincing argument was what exactly was lost by all of this. Hundreds of faceless, nameless peoples’ lives would be lost. They would all die anyway and none of them would be remember. Lute knew this to be true no matter how much he wanted to disregard it.
In the end, Lute couldn’t help but to agree with his father’s views; they were blood after all. As time went on, Lute eventually decided to go along with his father’s trade. Together they would tear apart families, wage wars that they only profited from, and live like kings. Of course, while entering such a dangerous profession, the need to wield some sort of weapon arose. Lute’s father taught him the finer points of using a bow along with its melee capabilities. These years really defined Lute’s personality as an egotistical, heartless person. He saw people were so easy to control and that everyone around him was really under him.
Sadly, the good times wouldn’t last forever. As time went on, Lute’s father eventually reached the point where he was too old to continue doing what he did. He had obtained enough money to live his same luxurious lifestyle until the end of his days. It was at this point that Lute decided it was time to stake out his own claims and make his own life. He didn’t want to be living in his father’s shadow forever. In their business they would remain nameless and faceless. Lute wanted more than that. He wanted people to speak of his magnificence until the end of time. This is when he left the protection of his family and made his way out into the world. Of course he took along with him enough coin to get him more than a good start.
Other details: Lute is a jerk, I don’t personally hate anyone on this board so don’t get upset if Lute isn’t nice to your character. =P
