Summer 186 AD
Often times the mettle of a warrior is shown through both revenge and betrayl. When one is forced to make a choice between right and wrong, choosing life or death for another human being.
Unfortunatly of the young lord Sun Ce this exact situation would happen within his own generals. His own ranked core would test his mental and physical capabilities in what would be the most dramatic and heart renching moment in Ce's young life.
At 16 Sun Ce was given the job of guarding the key defence base off the roads of Jian Ye, where as the usual guard who was stationed there mysteriously vanished.
Sun Jian not wanting to send another small wave to be dispersed sent his very own son, knowing that he would be capable of taking care of the situation where others could not.
Apon arriving at the fortification it was clear to Ce and his Bodyguard that a battle had ensued. Clearly it was bloody and whoever attacked did so without quarter and without Mercy.
Ce stepped into the base and looked around, Blood was smeared on the walls, and bowels were scattered up the stairs to the rooftop.
Dong Xi made his way upstairs to look at the damage and found what would be the most gruesome site he had ever seen or imagined in his entire life of over 40 years.
From the oposite side of the fort hung over 3 dozen bodies, completly skinned and either hanging by their neck, arm, leg, or possibly impaled through a large stake in the palisade portion of the base.
These men were not defeated in battle, they were mutilated, tortured, murdered in cold blood. And to make matters more confusing the warriors who killed these men did not even stop to conquer the fort, they simply moved through with no intention of taking anything.
Ce clenched his fist, he was truly angry, an anger that he had never felt before in his life. These men were slaughtered like common animals, not killed in battle, not given a glorious death of war, but given the common slaughter that was given to the boar that Ce ate for dinner.
Slamming his fist against a nearby wall ce screamed out
"Damn you all!"
As he did so the wall crumbled, where at first Ce thought his own might had crushed the wall he quickly found out that it was a molding hollowed out portion of the fort, one that given enough force would have cracked anyway, looking inside he could hear crying, the crying was of a small girl, no more than 9 years old who was curled up in a small ball crying over a small doll he gripped tightly.
The Girls name was Jinu-pantu, for short Ce would call her Jin
Jin told the story of how at least 200 people lived in this fortification, at least 100 were trained active soldiers under the Han army, and the rest were civilians, Her father was captain of the watch and was informed of everything before anyone else, thusly when he heard that a large ground of bandits ranking over 1000 were coming forward towards the base, he had his daughter hide in the watches hidden quarters while the fight ensued. Jin then explained that she had been in these quarters with barely any light, musty air, and little food and water for nearly a week, while their were rations, most of them were destroyed in the bandit raid, and now she was forced to survive on her own.
After learning that Ce was the son of the prefect of Jiang Dong he grabbed him tightly, hugging him and crying into his torso.
This both angered Ce, and gave him a large amount of pity for the young girls situation. With his eyes narrowed and determined he stood up, setting the girl on his feet and yelled up
"Xi, Bring my 100 royal guards and 200 Cavalrymen to this location, do it quickly"
Xi left immediatly to take care of this, where Ce's job was to report what had happened he knew now that he had to avenge these people, and that once the bandits knew that these soldiers were still opposing them they would return and once again attempt to kill everyone in the fort.
But this time...
They would have to go through Sun Ce

Ce had rebuilt the fortification using all the men that he had. The young girl Jin had grew to be like a younger sister, he features reminded Ce alot of Sun Shang Xiang, and caused him to feel a brotherly love for her. he would allow her to sit on his lap during the war councels and even put in an idea, being the daughter of the watch she knew many Han strategies and were able to repeat them by heart.
After several months of rebuilding and planning a letter was delivered to Ce by an anonymous soldier who stated that if this fort was not abandoned that another nearby town would be completly destroyed by the bandits.
Ce, who was still enraged by his discovery that past summer had the soldier sent back with only the comment
"Do It"
Ce was forced them to decide what he was going to do, and sat in his chambers for nearly 3 days contemplating his next move, unable to decide exactly how he would take care of this emmense problem.
Then, without warning one member of the royal guard burst through the door and bowed before ce
RG: My lord, lady Jin has fallen ill!
Going to her bedside Jin had Ce lean over her so she could whisper to him
J: My lord, i had a vision, a vision that the bandits would attack a different town, one near Chai Sang, they would slaughter everyone while all of our units sat in the town near Jian Ye, my lord i never told you but my father used me as a phsycic, i can read the weather and see visions, however this one was so bloody, so violent that it has made me ill.
Ce was once again infurriated by this news and ordered the Dong Xi Deploy all of their troops to this small town. Ce decided to stay by Jins side to make sure that she did indeed survive from what appeared to be a fatal position.
Dong Xi insisted that Ce stay with at least 50 royal guards, and took the remaining 250 soldiers to the nearby town.
That night Ce stayed in Jins chamber and stayed with her through the night.
He awoke in the middle of the night and felt that he could not move, opening his eyes he found himself tied up with a cloth tied around his mouth. Jin looked down on him, she was holding a daggar with a short bow on her back and was wearing what appeared to be bandit leather. Outside Ce could see fire and felt the heat. He looked into Jins eyes as she let out a smirk.
J: Sun Ce, You have fallen for my trickery, i am not nine, but actually 13, i am just small for my age, nor am i the daughter of a guard but the daughter of the king of bandits. I was left behind to ensure that anyone sent to clean up the mess was nuetralized, but learning that my victim was the son of the prefect of Jiang Dong, i had to make sure to take another dent into the army of the Han. What suprises me is that you were stupid enough to fall for the phsycic act, i had expected better of you, to bad to you were cute
Jin then raised her daggar up
J: it will be hard to watch that pretty face die
Jin thrusted downward with the knife just as Ce rolled out of the way allowing the knife to cut the ropes on his legs.
Ce then jumped to his feet, still unable to use his arms. He began to back up towards the window.
Jin frowned and made a pouting noise as she walked towards him once more
J: Come now Sun Ce, accept defeat like the hunk you are
Ce had purposly backed into the window because he knew of the torch that was there behind it, the torch behan to ignite the rope around his wrists slowly as Ce began to struggle for time, he was able to force the cloth off of his mouth as it was tied poorly so that he could talk to Jin
"Why Jin, i was kind to you, i let you into my heart, i loved you"
Jin stopped for a moment and looked at him
J: You thought i was 9
"But i saw so much more in you, i could sense your maturity, your vigor, i could tell that you were someone who could give me what i wanted"
Jin looked at him with one of her lips curled as if pouting again
J: That is so sweat Ce....I love you to
Putting the knife on her beltloop she moved forward
J: We....we could run....far from here you know, we could make it out towards the forests of Nanman and live our lives in peace away from war.
"Yes my love yes"
Jin ran up, wrapped her arms around Ce's neck and began to kiss him. This was Ce's first kiss ever and in all honesty if it saved his life he was willing to play along. The kiss was good, even Ce had to admit that this was a good first kiss, and that had this not been the girl whom was trying to kill him, he may have given a second thought to being with her.
However all to soon the fire burned the ropes off of his wrists, and Ce moved one hand behind her neck to enhance what Jin thought was passion. Not even noticing that his hands were free as she was lost in the moment Ce used the other hand to pull the knife out of its holster and lunge the blade into Jins back.
She gasped as her arms flew forward and small amounts of blood trickled from her mouth.
Ce laid her down making a calming shush sound to the girl who was in to much pain to fidget.
"I will give you the mercy that those dozens of brave men never had"
Pulling out the knife allowing her another gasp of pain Ce stood and walked out of the room, leaving Jin to die on the floor.
As ce left the room a tear ran down his cheeck, usualy Ce wouldnt cry, but it was as though he had lost his own sister a second time, and once again he felt it was his fault.
However apon hearing the screams of his own soldiers Ce quickly got back into the mood of battle. he was prepared to gain the revenge he so deeply sought.
Running down the stairs he found his two door guards fighting off five different bandits, running and jumping over his guards Ce landed on one of the bandits, immediatly grabbing and twisting his neck, cracking it and killing him instantly, he then rolled over the body, picking up the sword the man was holding. He quickly lunged it into the back of one of the other bandits there. Pulling it out and parrying it to his back in order to block another hit.
Standing up Ce began to combat the other three, the clashing of their swords as Ce jumped over swings, countered, kicked, and was succesfull in taking the head of one of the men clear off.
The other two were taken out by the guards as Ce ran into the courtyard where he found another hundred bandits fighting a mere 20 soldiers
Ce began to combat them, for almost an hour Ce fought for his life, and the life of his guards.
These bandits were large burly men whom Ce could not easily combat in hand to hand combat, and without his Tonfa's he was unable to use his usual weapon and therefor did not hold his usual advantage.
A hammar to the stomach sent Ce crippling to the ground as two guards tood infront of him combating the men. another guard came to ce and persistantly stated
RG: Sir you need to get out of here, come i will escort you out
Ce, who was now spitting up blood picked up his sword once more and spat on the ground, standing back on his feet and cringing for a moment he shook his head
"No, if you all go, i will go with you"
As he says this theg uard infront of him has his head chopped off by a war axe. Ce lunged the sword into the mans chest and proceeded to pick up his axe. As several other bandits ran forward Ce began to swing his axe wildly either keeping the men firmly away from him, or causing them severe damage, which Ce was unsure, but he knew that he was safe.
His arms were weary as a bandit ran at him, Ce threw the axe at him causing him to trip, as a bandit came up from behind ce and threw a war hammar down on him, Ce ducked down and stabbed the man with the hidden knife he had gotten from Jin, he pulled the knife out and kicked the bandit down. He then turned and threw the knife into the eye of another bandit, he ran forward and leaped onto the bandit, pulling the knife out and stabbing his several times in the stomach. Turning around seeing another bandit he threw the knife at the one bandit causing him to fall, he then flip kicked a bandit to the ground and was punched by a bandit wearing gauntlets. Ce's arm was now bleeding as he continued combat. His soldiers were dying and Ce was failing, no matter how many he killed, even Ce had not been counting like he usually did.
The captain of the bandits stepped forward towards ce who was crippled on the ground
CB: Stand up you son of a bitch"
He said with a laugh as he walked over to Ce who was on his hands and knees trying to stand. The captain kicked Ce in the ribs causing him to fall over again, The captain then stepped on Ce as hard as he could, causing Ce to let out a large scream.
Ce then bit his lip as not to scream out for the enemy again. The man raised up a large axe and smiled
"Goodbye son of the prefect of Jiang Dong"
he laughed and suddenly, before he could bring the axe down his arms flew back, he dropped the weapon behind him, and his eyes rolled back into his head. A white foam began to spew from his mouth as he fell forward
Ce rolled out of the way as to not be crushed by the giant man, and saw that an arrow had hit the captain in the neck, piercing the skin, and sending a purple liquid into his body (Probably poison) Ce looked out to see Jin laying on the ground, her bow drawn and aimed at the captain who was on the ground
J: Ce....my...love
Jin laid her head in the dirt and passed out, Ce stood up barely able to walk as he heard a war horn, it was Dong Xi who had always suspected that Jin was lying, he had moved increasingly slow towards Chai Sang as he had predicted this would happen.
Ce smiled and then promptly blacked out.
He awoke nearly two days later, laying in a bed surrounded by servants, he had been returned to Wu by Dong Xi after winning the battle. the scars and broken bones reminded him of the battle.
Jin had survived and been imprisoned by Sun Jian, she awaits sentencing.
After the bandits were defeated, one minor bandit leaked information on the bandits camp, where they found over 100 prisoners from the fort, who were returned home, and guards sent to replace the warriors there
It appears all had worked out, however how would Ce be able to trust, or love again
