Peasents

A slow moving weak melee unit; not made for war are only meant to be used in dire situations. They wear basic armour and are equipped with all sorts of instruments to attack with.
Strong: In huge numbers.
Weak: When left in open spaces.
Volunteers
155 Gold for 100 Volunteers
Volunteered youthful men ready to fight, untrained and unprepared for war. Cheap and versatile but nothing more. Good for hit and run attacks but if your looking for a strong fighting force this is not for you. Equipped in leather and given simple blades, spears and shields.
Strong: Rushing and attacking on several fronts.
Weak: Against heavily armoured units.
Spearmen
200 gold for 100 Spearmen
Basic spear unit, a single man comes with a firm armour and a basic crafted spear. All members have completed some sort of training.
Strong: When covered.
Weak: Weak in the flanks.
Swordsmen
210 gold for 100 Swordsmen
Swordsmen, equipped with a single one-handed sword. Do not come with shields. Well know for their speed, good at skirmishing things out but poor on defence.
Strong: Attacking

Light Calvary
280 gold for 100 Light Calvary
An assembled calvary unit, equipped with spears and polearms and bred war horses. Usually used to combat foes horses in a simple fight fire with fire tactic.
Strong: Rushing and trampling.
Weak: When pinned in to small spaces.
Archers
250 Gold for 100 Archers
Basic archers equipped with a longbow, can fire a decent distance with some accuracy. Complete unequipped for close combat though.
Strong: Ranged

Crossbowmen
270 Gold for 100 Crossbowmen
The alternative from archers; the more updated and modern bolt action firing. Crossbowmen are more equipped and considered more deadly. However they are less versatile and cost more due to their crossbows and training.

Messengers

The basic war communication unit; these fast but unarmoured units will be needed to communicate between units, generals and forces. Come with a horn, a bag and a well-bred horse for speed.

White Calvary
330 Gold for 100 White Riders
Requirement: Bei Ping or Xiang Ping (Both = 20% Discount)
A bulky calvary unit that is used to crush opponents, not really built for speed but rather more for fear. Complete intimidating to see a huge force of white calvary and is often used to put down bandits. Highly trained horsemen equipped well.
Qiang Calvary
310 Gold for 100 Qiang Riders
Requirement: Xi Liang
A fast impact calvary, amazing at breaking sieges or crushing the enemy. Best used for its speed. Not made for lasting long in battles and if made to do so they will quickly tire and become useless. Strong armoured and well trained in the ways of war.
Qing Spearmen
290 for 100 Qing Spearmen
Requirements: Bei Hai or Pu Yang (Both = 20% Discount)
Well-trained and highly equipped spearmen from the Eastern plains. Highly remarked as one of the elitest spear units of the time.
Imperial Guardians

Requirements: Emperor in your control or Emperorship
Highly trained defensive unit; often used to defend the Emperor in times of need or close friends of the Emperor. Diverse and armoured completely. Not really trained for war but for protection.
River Pirates
220 Gold for 100 Pirates
Requirements: A city in Jiangdong (Each city -5% Cost)
Pirates summoned to do your bidding for money. Considered treacherous folk of the seas that excell upon ships or near water. Nothing more then seafolk but they are masters of the sea.
Stone Warriors

Requirements: A city in Yizhou
The highly defensive units of the West, called "Stone Warrior's" for there strong tanking abilities. Equipped with swords and shields, best used in enclosed positions to crush their opponents.
Nanman Tribesmen

Requirements: either Yu Nan, San Jiang or Jian Ning
The native folk of the south, poorly educated but brutal warriors if used correctly.
