( This is just my coming back thread before The Trading of SSX Thread) After a long journey exploring the world outside of Wu, Shangxiang figured it was finally time to go back home. She never told anyone about her leaving for such a long time because she knew everyone would be against her going out without bodyguards. All she wanted was some peace and quiet for once. Being locked up in that cage of a home was not worth missing the world for. The places she had gone were unimaginably magestic and full of magnificent sites. She thought about visiting the Nanman Territory, but she didn't want to push her luck that far. She was already risking her life by visiting factions thatwould love to get their hands on a beautiful maiden such as Sun Shang Xiang.
She entered the city of Wu, her hometown for 19 years. Shangxiang took in a breath of fresh air and exhaled. The scent was so familiar and so fresh. A smile formed on her face as she happily struted down the walk way. She couldn't wait to see her father and brothers again for atleast a few months. It had seemed much longer. She looked around the city, enjoying the site of people being...people. The people of Wu were always confident about their ruler that even the sound of war wouldn't make them have doubt in their hearts.
She started walking into the central walk-way when she hear a familiar voice screaming and coming closer to her."Sis! Your home!". ShangXiang turned around and saw her half-sister, Sun Qing Liang, running towards her with her arms open wide. She braced herself for the impact of Liang's hug. She had always had a tendency to tackle someone when all she wanted to do was give them a hug. Surprisingly Liang stopped right before coming in contact with Shangxiang. She looked at her and saw that Liang had tears in her eyes, but an angry look on her face. " Why didn't you tell anyone you were leaving!? There have been rumors that you could have been killed! Luckily No one in our family would believe such gossip." She yelled. Shangxiang sighed and looked at her sister apologetically. " I'm sorry sis, but even you have said I needed a break from that prison cell." She crossed her arms against her chest. " Now wheres father? He's one person I dont need worrying about me for another second." Liang looked in the direction of the governor's house. " He should be in his usual spot, but you know father, he never stops working. Well I have to go back to help the blacksmith out. Good luck with father not freaking out." Liang smiled at her sister and took off. Shangxiang started walking towards the governor's house where she was hoping to find her father.

((could i make a suggestion? could you perhaps lower the font size? you don't have to, of course, it's just a thought ^_^))
Wu Mei, better known as Lady Wu, returned to her beloved's city from Jian Ye. She had traveled there with her newest friend, Nohime. The two ladies were going to go to the center of the town to talk a little more, but Nohime was tired. She departed to the camp just outside the town to sleep in that drab tent of hers. Mei sighed to herself. One day she would have to talk Sun Jian into allowing her to give Nohime a small house within the town...at least a small house. Feeling somewhat bored now, Mei began to head back to the Governor's House to have herself a bit of rest. However, just as the house came into view, she spotted a familiar face. She smiled to herself.
"Shang Xiang!" she called out to her daughter. She hurriedly made her way to her young daughter. As soon as she was close enough, she hugged her daughter tightly. She then pulled away and looked into her eyes. "Where have you been, my child. You've been gone for so long...Oh, it doesn't matter, I'm just glad you're back." She sighed softly, but then a rather disturbing thought popped into her mind. "Actually, it does matter. Where have you been, young lady? You certainly stirred up quite a fright when you left. I'm sure your father was beside himself."

( Took your advice and my post looks much prettier now Hope its not too small.) As she walked up the steps to the Governor's House where Shangxiang hoped to find her father, she heard a faint but definate voice coming from the right of her. A bead of sweat dropped from her chin as the presence closed in. She sighed deeply and whispered to herself. " Mother.." She Turn to her Mother, Nohime, and smiled. Her mother's arms enveloped her figure and a single tear escaped from her eyes. She missed her mother dearly and it was painful to leave without notice. She wrapped her arms around her mother and a smile broke out of her face. " I missed you Mom." She heard her mother question her about where she had run off to. She hated lying to her mother so usually she would tell her the truth, but telling her that she had gone sight seeing around the country would be terrifying.
" I just needed some time to myself. Along with my hectic schedules I've been helping out the townspeople with daily chores, but I just wanted a break." She said while loking her mother in the eyes. She thought that maybe she wouldn't be too worried now that she knew her daughter was ok. " Mother.... do you know where father could be? He needs to know that I'm ok." Shangxiang hoped her father wouldn't be as mad as he usually got when she would sneak out of the house. In this case it was out of the city and into unkown territory for her.

After sitting in his chamber thinking about the upcoming coalition, he was wondering who would actually come and how each of them will be like. As well as the coalition, he was also thinking about Wu and the nearby regions in Jiangdong, and the pirates to the South who could be a thorn from behind for whatever they do.
For now, he decided to take a break and leave the palace, when he saw in the distance, his wife, Mei, who he had spent the day with yesterday, and his daughter Shang Xiang, who has been gone for awhile.
A smile appeared on his face as he approached them. He would of ran but being the ruler, it wouldn't be sensible to run. When he was behind Shang Xiang while she spoke to her mother, he asked, "So the tigeress has come home?", with a smile on his face.

Mei loved her daughter, but she couldn't help but believe that there was more to the story than 'time to herself'. She was going to inquire further until Shangxiang mentioned her father. As she was about to speak again, the Tiger of Jiang Dong made himself known and Mei simply smiled and watched the two of them talk for a moment. She hoped that Shangxiang would be a bit more truthful in this situation. She wanted to know what her daughter had been up to.

While slightly untangling herself from her mother’s arms, she looked to the right of her and her father appears right as she started to think about him. She knew her father would find out the truth about her whereabouts somehow. Her mother had never caught onto her sneaking out of the castle to see new lands as a hint to where she had gone. She knew what kind of dehumanization was brought upon those who lied to their fathers, especially the women of China.
She looked down as a warm breeze came through and unraveled the bow that kept her hair up and it fell down over her eyes a bit. She brushed her hair to the side revealing her amber brown eyes to her father. " Yes father....I'm back for good." She responded in a low depressive tone. Despite telling the truth fathers would still give their daughters the punishment they thought would serve as their lesson. She had a nice sense of certainty that her father wasn't like that, but was quite lenient with her. " I'm sorry if I worried you father"

Ce was a young man of action, Quan was a talented young scholar learning the art of war, and ShangXiang was an adventurer, all were children to be proud of. A smile widened across Sun Jian's face to see his daughter again, but of course happy she has returned from her travels, seeing as she loved to explore. He stepped closer to her and held out his arm so she could give him a hug, "It is great to see you again ShangXiang. Once again, the Sun family are united", he paused, "You going to explain to your mother where you've been?", he paused again, but before she could tell her mother, he added, "You must of been to some nice places", as a grin appeared on his face and waited to see her reaction.

Mei had an inquisitive look on her face when Sun Jian mentioned that Shang Xiang was going to tell her where she had gone. Did Jian know where she was all this time? If it was so, she would have to ask him later if Shang Xiang didn't tell her the truth, but if Shang Xiang saw fit to tell the truth, she would be more than happy to not hold it against her daughter. Still, she was first and foremost a mother and she wanted nothing less than a fairly detailed account from her daughter. She smiled sweetly and looked her daughter in the eyes.
"Go ahead, Shang Xiang," she began. "Tell me all about your outing. I'd love to hear about it."

As she listened to her father ofered his suggestion to tell her mother the truth her moment of escaping trouble just closed. She turned her attention to her mother who was very curious about what exactly the truth was. She had no choice but to do as they said. Father knew Shangxiang too well to fall for anything else. " Well, the night I left I figured that Nanman Territory would be a nice place to visit for my enjoyment, and to observe the area for future references." She said already risking her well being. She looked at her father and got the courage to continue with her explanation.
" I...also when to the.....capital right before I came back." She put her hand on her mothers shoulder before she had a small heart attack. A mother like SHangxiang's made her children her priority, unlike some others. " But I'm back and without a scratch so don't worry. I promise never to leave like that again." Even Shangxiang had doubt in those words. She figured so did her father. She was an adverturous soul that ahted being couped up in a palace room without any adventure. That was one of the reasons she joined the army. To fight for her nation and to see many other lands.

Sun Jian laughed "That's my girl. Seems you've had quite an adventure ShangXiang", glancing over to Mei seeing her curious look at both him and ShangXiang. He walked to her side, and put his left hand round her while pointing towards the river which leads to the Chang Jiang, "Have you ever wondered what lies beyond that river. The whole of Jiangdong has the natural barrier of the river, but for those with an adventurous soul like ShangXiang, like to find out what is beyond that barrier and see what other lands are like".
He brought his right hand down and put it round ShangXiang, "In these times of chaos, the land is in turmoil with the Han that once kept the land together is now fading away", he paused, "The Sun family are strong, and it shall be us who shall unite the lands of Jiangdong and bring peace to the people".

Mei couldn't help but frown. It wasn't that she was upset that her daughter had travelled so far away from home...it was just... "I wish that you would have told me when it was merely you and me talking," she said, looking disappointed. "I'm a little hurt that it took your father to convince you to tell me where you had been. You must learn to trust me more, my Tigress cub." She then smiled when Shangxiang put her hands on her shoulders. "I'm just glad you're okay. I'm not going to hold this against you."
She then smiled even wider as Sun Jian wrapped his arm around her. She loved being close to him, no matter the meaning. She then looked into the distance as he spoke. After he finished, she sighed softly. "I know we will, my love, and it shall be you who will lead us. And your children--all of them--will be by your side, helping you to seize the land to make it a better place for all of China."

( sorry guys I keep losing my muse xD) Shangxiang thought of herself as the only woman in Wu who ever wanted to adventure. She felt strange everywhere she went, whether it be across China, or just out in the city. Some people want money, some people wanted to fall in love, Shangxiang just wanted to unite China and have time to enjoy her life. Her life long dream was to go across the seas and explore various places she had never been before. The way Liang described Japan made her want to embark there right away, but after this mess was cleaned up.
Shangxiang looked in the direction her father was pointing. It was the river she remembered playing in as a child. Now it was acting as a barrier between them and the nations beyond its banks. She loved being here with her family, protecting everything she held dear to here. Anything that would jeopardize their safety would meet its end by Shangxiang's blade.
Shangxiang looked back from the river and saw Liang walking towards her carrying a nicely crafted quiver. " Here you go Sis. I quiver straight from the weaponsmith." Liang said with a smile. Shangxiang took the quiver and wrapped it across her chest. "Thank you sister." She said while smiling back. SHangxiang embraced her sister and they both walked off to the training hall to try this new quiver out. SHangxiang quickly looked back at her mother and father and smiled. " I'm glad to be back!" She yelled.
