Lord of the Rings

Well I know a couple of fan boys exist on this site so I thought I would throw up a thread about it. If anyone has read the books or watched the movie or even played a game here is where to discuss it. Personally I love it, the lore, the movie, the cast, the books. I'm a complete nerd when it comes to Lord of the Rings; and I could talk about it for ages (though I haven't watched all three within the same day yet. Curses!)

So I was wondering what do you guys think of the blockbustering epic? Overrated? Amazing? Who are your favourite characters? Favourite scenes? Favourite games?

Personally my favourite as a younger me was Legolas, he was such a bad-ass when he slid down them stairs on the shield and raped them Uruk-hai; but now that i've matured; I've found myself alongside Aragorn. I value alot of his traits, his bravery and strength as well as his fierce leadership.

My favourite scene would have to probably be Helms Deep as a whole, one of my favourite battle scenes. So fucking epic. When the rain comes down - you just know its going down. Another favourite is Aragorns speech outside the Black Gate.

So do you think the movies did the books justice or not?

Loved it. Easily my favourite saga of all time. Original characters, classic storylines, epic battles, a clear line of what fantasy works should be like.

And favourite character? Legolas.

Favourite battle? Helm's Deep too. Gotta love the desperate till-the-last-man-falls battle they put up.

And finally, Pippin's song. Ah, yes. Short and sweet.

Good saga, highly overrated however.


But don't get me wrong, I love the franchise. The story is the best part.

My favorite character is either Sauron or the Witch-King.

My favorite character out of the Fellowship is Gimli just because he rocks.

I agree, my favorite scene or battle is more likely Helm's deep, it was epic.

Was I the only one who thought it was really badass when Legolas took down that elephant all by himself during the Battle of Gondor?
My favorite characters are probably Legolas, for being a badass, Gimli because he was really funny, and Aragorn the most, as I agree what Lu Xiang said about his leadership, his strength and his bravery.

I have read the books, there are some things that they left out of the movies that were in the book, but the movies still were very close to the books in my opinion. I can easily say that the Lord of the Rings Saga is the best Saga ever!!

Hmmm...I'm...well I'm not exactly a fan lol, went to go see the third one at the cinema and fell asleep halfway through it lol. I don't dislike it I do think they're great movies and I do enjoy them but not like a uber fan or anything
