Zhi yawned a long, loud yawn while he was laying there underneath a large tree that provided him shade. Zhi Fang was in the city of Han Zhong, taking a long, well-deserved break from all the troubling affairs of being an officer. Zhi feLt that he has earned a nice rest, and he was bent on making sure he enjoyed it, every single second of it. Zhi went as far as to not bring his weapon with him. Some may call him foolish, but Zhi Fang didn't care, he was on vacation!

Zhi was enjoying a lovely day in Han Zhong when he heard a loud scream coming from somewhere a short distance away from him. Trying to not worry about it, Zhi closed his eyes, pretending that there was no sound. Though when he heard the loud scream again, even louder the second time, Zhi could not ignore it. Getting up from his comfortable spot under the tree, Zhi began to walk towards the source of the sound. When he got there, there wa a young boy laying there on the ground, with nobody else in sight. The boy was groaing, and he looked like he was just beat up. Running the rest of the distance, Zhi got to the boy and shook him, trying to get him up. After a couple of seconds, the boy came to and looked frightendly at Zhi, thinking that he was there to beat him up.

"Get away from me, I don't have any money left!"Zhi looked down at the boy as he tried to get away from Zhi. Calmly, Zhi said to the boy,"Kid, calm down, I am not here to hurt you. I heard yo screaming and i came over to see what heappened. It seems like I was to late. Could you tell me what happened to you?"Starting to calm down, the boy said to Zhi,"it was just those same three thougs who keep attacking me every time I come to the market trying to buy things for my mother. You see, she is ill so I have to take care of her and my two younger brothers. It is hard enough to do it without those thugs taking the small amount of money I get."Suddenly, the boy began to cry.

A fierce look came from Zhi Fang's eyes as he heard what happened. What kind of men would attack a little child who was trying to provide to his family as best as he could? Looking back down at the kid, Zhi said,"Don't worry, I will amke sure these thugs never touch you again!"The boy suddenly began to shake his head as he said,"No, you musn't get involved! They are a part of a large organization, if you scare off those three, they will just send more after you. Please, for your own sake, don't get involved."Smiling at the kid, Zhi said softly,"I became involved the second I came over here to help you, and I can't back away now." Zhi picked the boy up, and asked where he lived. Zhi then carried him to his house, and said goodbye to the little boy. As soon as the little boy went inside, Zhi became serious, it was time to teach these thugs a lesson.

Zhi arrived at the tavern to look for the thugs. As soon as he entered, he knew he found them. They were all drunk, wobling around as they terrorized the patrons of the tavern. There was only one thug that was not drunk though, probably just in case if they got into a fight, they would have somebody who could actually fight without falling over in their own throw-up. Zhi walked up to them, saying,"Hello there, I just wanted to tell you guys that you need to leave."One of the drunk thugs said to Zhi,"But we*hickup*have...rooooms he*hickup*re.""I meant the city you drunk fool!"The non-drunk thug walked up to him and said,"Who are you to tell us what to do? We could just kill you and we would not break a sweat."Zhi shook his head, this would be a lot harder than he thought. Then out of nowhere, a drunk Thug got behind Zhi and grabbed him, while the other two began to punch away at Zhi's stomach. Zhi was in a strong hold, and he could not fight back. After a few more punches, the Thug holding Zhi took him outside and threw him onto the dirt road. Right before he walked back into the tavern, the Thug stomped on Zhi's stomach. Then there was darkness.

Awaking a few minutes later, Zhi tried to sit up, his stomach felt a sharp pain. Then Zhi coughed up blood."Those Barbarians..."Then, Zhi figured out how to deal with the Thugs. He knew that he could not beat them by force, and it seemed liked he could not use diplomacy to help him either. Zhi knew that the people of Han Zhong did not fight back against them only because they were afraid to stand up to them. Maybe if they saw a person who continued to stand up against them even though he kept getting beat up for it, maybe they would get some fight back into them and drive the Thugs away. Zhi would have to give it a try.

Zhi walked back into the tavern, looking straight at the Thugs saying,"Is that all you got, you punks?" The lead Thug shook his head, saying,"You just don't know when to quit do you?"The Thug then threw the glass he was holding at Zhi with great speed. The glass mug hit Zhi right square in the forehead. As soon as the glass made contact, the other two Thugs ran at Zhi and began to pund on him again. The same one as before picked him up and threw him back out on the street outside. Though the other two came out with him and all three of them continued to stomp on Zhi. Zhi just laid there and took it. After a couple of minutes, the Thugs went back into the tavern, but before they left, they all did one more good stomp on Zhi.

After seeing them leave, Zhi slowly got back up. There was a crowd that had gathered around and they watched Zhi get beat up, and watched as he tried to get back up. They were still to afraid to help Zhi out. Zhi could not blame them, if he was in their position, he would be afraid too. Zhi smiled when he saw a crowd gathering. "Good, they are here..."When Zhi got up, he looked at the tavern door and yelled,"It is going to take a lot more than that to get me down, especially since you hit like a girl!"The Thugs heard this taunt and came outside. Once they came out, Zhi coninued to say,"You may have these villagers under your ugly thumb, but I will die before I let you control me you pigs!!"Of course, the Thugs came running at Zhi. Zhi stood there, waiting for the beating, it came, twice as hard as it was last time. The villagers just stood there in disgust, looking away as Zhi spat out blood several times."You will obey us, or you will die!!"The large Thug gave Zhi a hard punch in the ribs, breaking three ribs. Gasping from the pain, Zhi tried his haardest to not let the pain show on his face.

After a couple of minutes, the Thugs became tired and went back into the tavern. Waiting for the Thugs to go inside, a couple of villagers ran to Zhi Fang to tend to his wounds."Why are you doing this? Why won't you fight back?"Zhi. shakinghis head, said to the girls,"You guys are letting these three Thugs controll you like puppets. You shiver at the sight of them, you let them steal from you, harass you, and yet YOU do nothing about it. I am taking a stand against these Thugs, showing them that I don't need a weapon to show them that I am the stronger, and better man then they are."Zhi gasping in pain, slowly got back up onto his feet. Taking a few deep breaths, Zhi yelled,"Still...not...enough...I want...some more!"The two drunk Thugs came out, one holding a chair, the other ran straight at Zhi, grabbing his neck, trying to choke the life out Zhi. The other drunk Thug walked towards Zhi and he slammed the chair down hard onto Zhi's back. Zhi fell onto his knee's, fighting with all his strength to stay awake."Stop it! Let me handle him!"The two Thugs looked back at the Tavern to see their leader standing there, holding a knife."You made the wrong decision fighting us, now it is time that you died..."Right before the Thug Leader lunged his knife into Zhi, a high-speed rock hit the Thugs hand, making him drom the knife. THe Thug turned to look at who did that to see a kid with a slingshot, readying another rock to sling at him."I will kill you you little pig!"The Thug began to walk slowly towards the little boy, when five or six villagers got inbetween them."That is it, you are no longer welcome here. We have had enough of you always terrorizing us! You will have to kill all of us before you try to kill either the little boy or this brave man."

As the villager said this, the rest of the villagers surrounded the three Thugs and Zhi. Afraid of the crowd, the Thug leader said,"Let the man go men. We shall get him later."A soon as the villagers got to Zhi and pulled him away from the Thugs, the villagers attacked the Thugs. outnumbered, the Thugs quickly became overun and with dying screams, the Thugs took their last breaths.

A few days passed and Zhi, fully recovered from his little incident, was walking through the village of Han Zhong. A few villagers came up to him, and bowed to him."You save the village from those Thugs. Your un-bending determination to standing up to the Thugs created in us, a everlasting courage that we will never forget about."Zhi shook his head, saying to them,"No, I should be thanking you. If it wasn't for you, I would not have any reason to continue fighting them. Seeing you guys being terrorized by those Thugs kept renewing my will to fight. And for that I thank you."Zhi bowed to the villagers, and he continued to walk. Zhi came to the tree he was at before this all started. Sighing, Zhi laid down under the tree, saying"Now, time to back to my nap..."
