Zhang Liao couldn't believe what happened at Hu Lao, it shocked him to his very core. He was lucky that all his men survived but he wanted to know what happened to his friends at the battle.
I guess i will find out tomorrow hopefully, he said as he was looking at the supplies and knew they would be fine for now but they must do something soon.
He thought to himself," what if some escaped that chaos and are making there way over here". But knew that that it was unlikely.
He told his troops to just relax and make sure that the horses were fine and won't get loose.
Just then a scout came to him and told him that there was an unknown force heading this way. Damn, tell the men to prepare for the worst. He ordered just as he went into the tent to get ready

Zhi rode with great speed, just wanting to get as far away from Hu Lao as possible. Things did not go as they planned, and Zhi had no clue what had happend to his allies, well, all except for one. Zhi had learned that Zhang Liao left the battle of Hu Lao in this direction, and the farther he traveled he found horse and foot prints on the ground to confirm his thoughts. Zhi needed to regroup with at least one of his allies, Zhi just hoped that nobdy was following him from Hu Lao. Zhi and his troops could not survive another attack from an enemy.
Zhi looked ahead and saw that he was getting close to Zhang Liao's unit. Zhi kicked his horse onward with great speed and his troops followed as fast as they could, down to where Zhang Liao was at.

Liao got out of his tent with his full body armor and twin halberds at the ready at his sides. He ran to his horse, the white stallion yin, and got all his troops ready for the possible enemy.
His men all got into the formation of the bull and they were ready for the battle, but he caught a glimpse of his friend Zhi Fang and told his men to stand down and there they waited for all of them to get down to were they were to increase their strength

As soon as Zhi got up to Zhang Liao, he got off his horse and bowed to him while he said, "Hello Liao, how do you and your troops, all that are left of them, fare? I am glad to see an ally in front of me instead of an enemy, if you were an enemy, me and my troops would not make it another fight."Smiling at Liao, Zhi waited there for a response. Liao got off his horse and bowed, My force was ambushed, I would of died if it wasn't for my loyal men who showed me the way out of that mountain pass. my calvary left first so to save the horses for the later battles and 1/4th of my Infantry stayed behind to make sure all of us escaped, he turns to his men, Its cause of those men we are all here, he turns back to Zhi Fang, you have no idea how happy we are to see an ally, please tell me how u managed to escape from the enemy.

"I was ahead of you in the mountain pass when I was ambushed. They had the advantage from the start and we could not gain a defensive hold against them, and slowly, one by one, we were getting destroyed...so I had to call the retreat. We were very lucky to get out of there. Most of my infantry men stayed behind to give me time to escape, and once I learned that you had retreated too, I came to find you, and to regroup with you. So, what is our next course of action Liao?"Zhi took a look around, as his men got comfortable, finally getting a rest as well as to check their wounds if they had any. There was many people sitting around, many wounded beyond repair, the battle, as well as the retreat had took a large toll on the troops.

Liao thought long and hard, well the first is to heal ourselves and also to send scouts ahead for a near by city, so that hopefully we can find shelter, I said as i walked toward my tent and held the opening open and motioned ZHi Fang to walk in, we can discuss this in private

Zhi nodded to Liao as he walked into the tent. There was a table inside, with a couple fo chairs, Zhi took a seat, and waited for Liao to do the same and continue what he was saying. (Wow, proably the shortest post I have ever done XD was in a BIG rush so here you go ) |

Liao followed Zhi Fang, but before he sat down he got a map and laided it down on the table. We are right here, He said pointing to the far left of the map, We can make our way to Xu Chang and get a base and supplies and start to find a better place to go. He stops and hesitates, I have heard of some good leaders but i can't decide between 3 of them if 1 of them is still alive after that chaos. he said as he asked one of his men to get them some water

"I doubt that Lu Bu will be alive after that battle. He would never retreat and since we lost the mountain pass, he was attacked from the front and from behind, so most likey he is out. I don' think our talents will be used best under Yuan Shao so I think he is out as well. Who do you think we should join Liao?"As Zhi said this, a soldier came in to give him some water, whcih he was dying for. With one huge gulp, Zhi drank all the water, and he asked his soldier for another glass.

Liao thought of what Zhi Fang said about Lu Bu and Yuan Shao, Well if they are out then it is between Liu Bei and Sun Jian. I think we should stay neutral for a while so that we can decide on who to join, but i am torn between them. The reason why is cause Sun Jian is our former lord but Liu Bei has the love of the people, I finished as I started to drink from my cup of water

What kind of a person do you see him as?"As Zhi said this, the soldier came back with another, and larger glass of water. Zhi thanked the soldier and took the glass from him. Zhi decided to drink the water slower this time, and savor the taste.

Liao frowned at the mention of Yuan Shu, Lord Shu is like his brother Lord Shao, but he is worse in my opinion. I say we sould look else were if Lord Lu Bu is no longer walking in this world, he said as he held his side in pain, but the pain soon passed and he forgot all about it
