Description: Some times it’s more fun to be bad. Raid a local village and take whatever you want from them.

The Plan

Zhu Jian stood in the small barracks in his village of Feng Huang with his a few of his captains and Mei Xin. He smiled slightly, “It is now time again to pillage another village.” The men cheered. It was something they were good at. And they could also get things for the village such as tools, money, food, furniture, and possibly horses.

Zhu Jian smiled, “Instead of jumping straight into a battle, we should send someone in to infiltrate. And of course it has to be someone we trust and can blend in.” All of eyes fell upon Mei Xin.

“What why me?” She asked. She was nervous. She never went off alone. She was always by Zhu Jian’s side. She wasn’t sure of being a spy.

“Because, one, you’re a pretty sneaky bitch.” Yu Leng, Zhu Jian’s third in command said, “two, you’re a woman and most men don’t expect women to be evil, and three, your sexy. Guys forget things when they see sexy women.” Mei Xin recoiled at the thought of her being sexy. She always saw herself a little rough.

Zhu Jian nodded at these words. He smiled and said, “Mei Xin, we need to you to get inside the village, which shouldn’t be easy, but you should get close to a guard, find out the shifts and such, were people tend to hide their valuables, and anything else which may benefit us. Once you do that, every two days I want you to meet me outside the city, near the stream.”

Mei Xin nodded, “So a status update every two days?”

“Starting out at least. After a few days, I want you to do one once a week for two weeks. I will give you three weeks. We need the most we can from this village. Plus the last time I have a potion that you could slip into some guard’s drinks, it will knock them out. This will allow us to sneak in and kill as many people as quietly as we can with alerting anyone. That way we can take items and food and such.”

Mei Xin nodded. She understood what she had to do. She stood up and removed her armor, a fur dress lay underneath. Zhu Jian turned to his captains and said, “Go.” And they left. Zhu Jian turned to Mei Xin, “Be careful. I need you to help me run this group. I cannot do it alone and Yu Leng can barely keep his few men in check.”

Mei Xin blushed a little and nodded, “Yes sir.”

Zhu Jian shook his head, “I know how you feel about me, but I cannot return that.” He said turning to leave. Mei Xin’s heart was crushed. The walls were closing in. Zhu Jian stopped and said, “But I never said that I don’t. I just said I can’t.”

She stood dumbstruck. She thought, does he? She smiled and blushed; maybe there was hope. But she told herself not get to excited. She had to restrain herself. She picked up her knife and put it on. She then exited and walked on the road towards the village.

Part 2 – Infiltration

Briefing 1

Mei Xin secretly snuck away from the bar to go into the forest. She found her way inside and saw Zhu Jian was waiting wrapped in hid dark cloak. It seemed to her this was a little overkill. All she was was a barmaid. She wasn’t sneaking into an enemy castle. She didn’t say anything as she strode up to him and bowed her head, “Lord.”

Zhu Jian nodded and asked, “How does it go?” He was curious. He wanted to know if she infiltrated.

Mei Xin nodded, brushed the hair out of her face and began, “I began working as a barmaid. I’ve got close to a guard captain so easily. I’m living at the tavern if I work for free and give up half my tips. It’s a little tough but I can do it. I haven’t learned much yet my lord, but it shouldn’t be too hard.”

Zhu Jian nodded, “I understand” He turned, “Good job Mei Xin.”

She smiled and turned around and walked back to the village.

Briefing 2

As Mei Xin arrived, once again she saw Zhu Jian in the same spot with his dark cloak. With haste in his voice he said, “What’s new?”

She nodded, “I have the guard shifts my lord.”

Zhu Jian nodded, “Good work. I’ll get it next time. I must go.” He turned and left.

As she walked back she grew curious what the problem was. But she returned and was walking towards the bar when her “interest” yelled for her, “Mei!”

She turned and saw Fei Huang bounding towards her, “There you are, so how’d you like to go for a walk?” She smiled and nodded and he pumped his fist. He was young and naïve. He didn’t know what was going to happen.

They walked towards the small stream where she was just once at, but as she arrived she said, “Wow this a beautiful place.” Inside she felt sick.

“I know,” he said, his brown eyes shining, “Like you.” He leaned in and kissed her. Her first instinct was to kick him. But as his lips touched hers, her heart fluttered. She recoiled with a look of disbelief on her face. He just kissed her! Her first kiss. The rest of the night she was in a daze.

Briefing 3

Mei Xin was late and she knew it. But she was with Fei Huang. She had grown feelings for him immensely which she didn’t understand. He was sweet, caring, loving, and funny. So much different from Zhu Jian who was cold and heartless.

As she showed up, Zhu Jian was already leaving. She said, ”Wait lord! I’m sorry!”

Zhu Jian coldly looked at her with contempt, “Hurry. We must strike tomorrow.”

Mei Xin gasped, “But sir!”

“What?” Zhu Jian said coldly, his eyes instilling fear and hatred into the girl. Her heart raced, her mind drew blank.

“Tomorrow they are… having a feast for the guards. I’ll… put in the potion.” Mei Xin said obediently, her head hung low. It wasn’t something she wanted to do.

“Good.” Zhu Jian handed over the potion and Mei Xin walked back to the village in distress. She started to have feelings Fei Huang. She went back, came into the tavern, worked her shift, and fell asleep.

The Attack

Zhu Jian and his men waited silently outside the village, crouched low, hidden in the darkness of the jungle. They waited silently for the sign. But it never came. In fact, a heightened awareness of guards seemed to happen along the outskirts.

“That bitch.” Zhu Jian said in disgust. He was disappointed and most of all, angry. He was pissed that she betrayed him. It didn’t matter. Zhu Jian smiled and turned to Yu Leng “Take the cavalry and some swordsmen around back. When you hear the screaming and the see the guards thin out, strike. If you find Mei Xin, take her alive. I want to deal with her.”

Yu Leng nodded grimly. This is why he never goes against his master. Such anger and hatred, such deep loathing in his voice he knew that Mei Xin wasn’t going to be alive if Jian ever got a hold of her. He took the cavalry and swordsmen and did as he was told. A few minutes later, he was in position.

Zhu Jian spread his men out even more, sending a group of 200 men to the east of the city, and one hundred to the west. It remained as fifty in the south, 200 east, 100 west, and 200 in the south with Yu Leng. The rest remained back as back ups.

Zhu Jian’s anger boiled inside him, that lying bitch! Zhu Jian stepped forward. Him alone. He stepped forward along the road towards the village and began looking ahead. He was stopped by the guards and they commanded, “What is your name.”

Zhu Jian smiled crookedly, “Zhu Jian.” The guards instantly went on alert but it was too late. Zhu Jian’s knives flew out from under his cloaked and planted them in the guard’s throats. Immediately the others looked upon in horror. He lapped up the blood on his knives and sighed deeply, “Oh woe is me, when the blood of revenge and anger is better than the blood of a stranger.” He laughed maniacally. He dashed forwards to the nearest guard and stabbed him multiple times in the chest. With that, the guard screamed, alerting the groups to the east and west to begin the attack.

Mei Xin looked around in alarm. The men ran and screamed, the militia stood shaking in fear. It wasn’t looking good. Why did she ever do this? She was stupid. However, Fei Huang shook his head, “Damnit, we can’t win. Mei…” He turned to her and kissed her and her fears melted away. They would win. She ran forward, towards to the east to fight whatever came her way.

Zhu Jian seemed be surrounded but not easily out matched. He killed mercilessly and without remorse, cutting people down left and right, civilian or not. A spear came out of nowhere and nailed him in the back. It pierced below his left shoulder and screamed in anger. The guards tried to capitalize on this but Zhu Jian took his right hand and pulled out his odachi, swinging it in a whirl wind. It cut and crushed three people around him. He turned the guard who stabbed him and his eyes grew wide with hunger, “Your blood will do nicely.”

With those words he cleaved off the man’s head in one blow. His blood squirted every and Zhu Jian was now coated in blood. He turned and smiled at the remaining soldiers, his teeth stained with blood, his face contorted in pain and psychotic rage. The men quivered silently, such blood lust, they had never seen anything like it.

“Zhu Jian!” Yu Leng yelled from behind the remaining guards. In his arms was Mei Xin. The guards yelled in distress and threw down their weapons. Zhu Jian smiled.

“BASTARD!” Fei Huang rushed forwards with his sword straight towards Zhu Jian’s back. Immediately he turned and threw his knife into his neck. He dropped dead instantly. Mei Xin’s heart ached and she screamed, “YOU BASTARD!”

Zhu Jian laughed. He stepped forward grabbing her by the neck and lifted her off the ground. She kicked and screamed, her hands and legs nailing Zhu Jian, but he felt nothing. Anger boiled up inside. This bitch lied to him and tried to ruin his plans. He turned to his men and said, “This is why you never go against me.” And with those words, his trusted Lieutenant, Mei Xin, was now mercilessly dealt with.

He took his knife and stabbed her in the arm. She shrieked and screaming, tears streaming down her face, but he wasn’t done. He took her hands and chopped off her fingers, digit by digit. Then, when they were all gone, he chopped off her hands. She screamed. The pain was taking over her body. Then he started lapping up her blood, “this is the blood of revenge.” He then took his knife and did something sick and twisted. He took his knife and stabbed her in the crotch. Instantly she felt the pain and her eyes rolled in the back of her head as she was unable to breathe. He dropped her to the ground and pulled out his odachi, “Never forget.” And the odachi came down on her head, instantly crushing it causing her brain to splatter on the ground.

Everyone was silent. The only sound was the sound of the crackling fire, the animals neighing and crying. The sick twisted ways of Zhu Jian were finally shown. His mind was dark with anger and hate, “Pillage. Find every last valuable item in this village. Bring it to me. We shall divide it.” His men did so without any sound.
