Crimson Dusk
~ Mi Gong Zhu~
Gong Peered out over the clear open ocean from a pirate ship. She looked at all the grubby men walking along the deck. She looked at her outfit which portrayed a rebelious pirate leader." Bandit.....Pirate......all the same end up in my life..." She whispered among the waves bashing against the hull. She looked out into the sea as the sun was setting. It left a beautiful reflection off of the water. She sulked as the thought of screaming children rushed through her mind. She usually wanted to steer clear of jobs that meant she would ahve to be feared. She was a beautiful young lady, at least she looked at herself that way, but when she was killing people would scream. At these times she remembered how she used to screm into her blankets when she was a small child. She shook off the memory as it was nothing. That was all in the past and she couldn't dwell over it much longer.
She walked around the deck until a man on the lookout yelled " There's our target!" Gong sighed as she saw a small village in the distance. She turned to the pirates she had hired earlier in the day. " We were ordered to burn everything! By no means will you harm an innocent person here or you shall feel the same fate." She said as she looked each individual man in the eyes. She was serious with that order. A pirate came up to her and took his sword out. He ran his finger across the blade. " Why not have fun with these innocent little mongrels. Us pirates don't know what mercy is." He said with a dark laugh. Gong quickly took her sword and drove it across the man's neck and sheathed it. Blood flew out of his neck as he fell to the ground. " Would anyone else like to object to a direct order or can you all follow my instructions?" She said with a serious tone. All the men shook their heads and went on with preparing the ship for attack. She looked back at the dead body. " Get this waste of money off my ship now!" She ordered and two men grabbed him by her feet and head and threw him out into the ocean.
She watched as the land came close enough for them to start pillaging. Gong Sighed as the pirates rushed out to the village. "Foolish men don't know how to be patient." She said. She jumped off the deck and grabbed a rope that led to the ground. She decended to the ground and looked at the village. She heard screaming as men, women and children ran out screaming. She walked towards the source of the shouting and stopped to monitor the pirates as they took money,jewelry, and antiques from the houses. Pirates ran back and forth from the ship to the village, and from the village tot he ship, loading it with the rewards. She took her scythe from her back and walked closer towards the small town. To many she looked like the grim reaper when she wielded her scythe. She spotted a man struggling with a woman. As he fended her off he slapped her and she fell tot he ground. A small girl ran out and started to hit the man on the leg. " Don't you hit mommy!" She screamed. The pirate took out his dagger and held it upwards with the blade pointing down at the little child. SHe saw a pirate run by her with a bow n quiver on her back. She grabbed him and disarmed him " What the.." He said as Gong armed herself with the bow. "I can't trust any of you worthless pawns..." She said. She took an arrow and pulled the string back with it. She closed one eye to get a clearer view of the man. She released the arrow and it flew towards him. He dropped the dagger as the arrow came at his jugular.
She walked up to the little girl and knelt down to her. She cringed and screeched a little. Gong looked and saw that a small toy was laying behind her. She picked it up and showed it tot he little girl. " Don't be scared hun.....Here take this." The little girl took the toy and ran to her mother's side. Gong looked at the woman and smiled. " Go to Wu and look for Sun Qing Liang. She'll take everyone in. Just mention my name. " Gong said as she walked off towards the boat. " Evacuate all the villagers and burn it all! We are done!" SHe yelled loud enough for everyone to hear her. They did as she said and all the pirates boarded the ship and embarked towards the man who gave her this job.
