And so the search for a master began.
About time, really. Wei Yan had been going solo for far too long for him to handle. As much as he believed that he could become the perfect mercenary or the ideal leader for taking his army to victory and conquest, he was certainly not the suitable one for that. But then, who was? That Liu Bei was long dead, or so they said and rumored for several years now. The lands of Jiang Dong? The crimson banner was self-conceited by their internal joy that they were ignorant to the outer world.
Yuan Shao? Noble fool.
Who was left, then? Pretty obvious, isn't it? The greatest man of all four powers?
Cao Cao, the wise yet crafty hero of chaos.
"We shall inform Lord Cao of your visit, sir," the guards spoke as the barbaric warrior stood tall before the huge palace of Chen Liu. "We ask of you to remove your weapon."
He obliged.

"Sir, a giant beast of a man asks to see you, he says that it is of the upmost importance."The guard said to Cao Cao as he looked up at his great leader who was sitting on his throne. Cao Cao has been getting a large amount of guests recently, each wanting to join him, maybe this man will want the same. He nodded to the guard, who immediatley went off back down to the gate to let him in.

The guard returned quite earlier than expected, pulling the door open and holding it open for Wei Yan to step in through the large wooden gates of the main palace structure. The building itself was quite humongous and complicatedly built, the complex a maze of labyrinthine architecture. Maybe it was to trap in intruders, or maybe it was just there to show off the luxury that Cao Cao could easily grasp and put into his personal entertainment and use.
Without a word, Wei Yan entered bare-handed and unarmed, walking up the long, well-lit corridors, all the while accompanied by a rather paranoid guard, most likely aware of Wei Yan's startling, unusual appearance and posture. As if he cared. Giving no sign of recognition to the company he unwillingly received, Wei Yan stepped right up to the exalted throne, looking up and glaring out of the eyeholes built into his mask at the figure above.
Such... strength. It could almost be felt.
"I... Wei Yan..."

"Oh dear..."Said Cao Cao to himself when he heard the man talk. Either he is not Chinese or he is an idiot. Though an idiot would be an easy person to control, and this man seemed to be a brute, which Cao Cao could really use. Cao Cao looked at the man and said to him,"Well met Wei Yan, may I ask what brings you to my palace?"

Straight to the point. How direct, yet firm, and taking care of intended business as required. That was something that both Cao Cao and Wei Yan seemed to share. Finding common traits here was a way that they could relate to each other better as potential master and warrior in service, especially with the already huge contrast they had in physical appearance. If Cao was quick to ask, then Wei Yan would be quick to answer in likewise manner.
Aside from the language difficulties, of course.
"I... join... you... Cao Cao... worthy..."

"Hmm, well I could use someone with your size and strength on my side. I would be honored to have you Wei Yan. Do you have anything else you would like to talk about? If not, I shall have my guard show you around the palace and then show you to your private room. I am sorry, but I am a busy man or I would accompany you myself."

Partly due to his inability to really share any brilliant ideas that he might have had in mind, and mostly because he, frankly, had nothing much popping into his mind other than the recognition of the fact that he would now have to adapt to this new... environment. An environment he would have to call home. Without a word of response to Cao Cao's offer of choices, Wei Yan spun around, waving his left hand to the guard waiting to escort him; it was basically a taking of being shown to his private quarters.
Of course, picking up his weapon along the way. And as short a meeting had that been, it was a new boosting start to another, completely different, portion of his life.
