Name:
Huang Shi [Yueying]
Age:
20
Residence:
Chengdu
Appearance:
Many know the daughter of Huang Chengyan to lack in physical beauty, with a soul that was placed within the Heavens and intelligence conquered all traditions of a 'perfect woman'. Yet, who knew the evidence beyond the rumour? A veil is always worn around the bottom half of the face to conceal the truth and only a few have seen whether the rumours are correct or not. Beneath? Oh the sight could be shocking, especially with harsh words circulating; under the veil hides a youthful face with peach coloured lips. Hazel eyes sparkling as if the phoenix was preparing to rise, it's power consuming all that gaze into the mystery of this woman behind the Strategist. The visage could easily match that of many beauties; Zhen Ji, Diao Chan, Xi Shi, Fu Hao, Nanzi..etc.. Simply hidden to allow other attributes be remembered other than her appearance.
Adorned in peach and beige robes reminiscent of the Hanfu, adorned with embroidered phoenix, this gentile flower places respect to the traditions of her ancestors and abides by the regulations set by the matriarchs of the realm. Long hair is either loose, or placed into a bun hidden by a hat that resembles the one her husband wears; not as prominent but still, it shares its similarities. When placed onto the fore, a light chain-mail is placed underneath specifically designed robes on orders of her father, giving her protection from any circumstances.
Personallity:
A brave girl of the phoenix, one whose polite exterior hides many motivations and sufferings from each direction. Torn between the devotion of marriage and filial piety to ancestors, her mind is a collision of arguments that still refuse to find an unanimous agreement. Over the years, forced into the shadows of wife-hood and each hard work placed forward taken off of her, to be praised as her husband's genius, the Lady Huang has become resentful to the one she once thought love for.. But now? Mere dislike to a man who has continualy pressed his seal upon the documents of her own; who dared acknowledge the wife?.. Thus, her being distanced itself from the husband, searching for a path out of the abyss and constant over-looking; the phoenix is brave but knows when to act to devour all within the fires of passion.. That day, as she foresees it, shall come...
Weapon:
Phoenix Wing
A creation of her own making, indeed many would presume anything martial would have been a gift from her 'beloved'; how wrong one could be! To carve the path of our own history, she knew that it would have to be something of her own mettle and thus created the Phoenix Wing. A spear like weapon that has one main different, instead of the sharp bladed tip there is a devastating war scythe with added spike on the top. Red tassels decorate the bottom of the bladed edge, while at the end of the spear a small but useless spike.
Weapon Strengths:
The war scythe acts as a 'slash' weapon, having the ability to easily tear and rip opponents, or objects, that come in contact with the blade. Furthermore, the spikes on both end enables her to jab or stab at opponents from a range instead of simply slashing with the scythe. The red tassels, resembling a phoenix tale, is initially used to absord any blood that may drip/run from the blade onto the main pole; removing the risk of it coming slippery.
Weapon Weaknesses:
It is a ranged weapon and has the same weaknesses as a spear. Also, the scythe must be swung to gain any victory of a hit, while the pole itself is made from a flexible wood that has a high endurance; but does not mean it can become shattered or broken.
Armour:
Chain-mail is designed to fit underneath any garment, usually robes, to mix together comfort, protection and of course mobility. While on the forearms, thighs and calves are specifically designed armoured plates to protect certain areas; all having the 'Huang' character carved upon them. The hair tied into a bun, or usually a pony-tail and pinned to stay back, removing the risk of getting hair in her face to hinder her actions.
However, through the growing resentment of her husband, the delightful phoenix regularly wears battle robes adorned with a phoenix taking battle with a dragon; the theme? The victory of the phoenix, of course! Furthermore, a battle headdress is added to war attire, that of a phoenix body and head; secured by hair pins that take on the wings of the fire bird and the tails mere red tassled that pertrude from the back of the golden bird.
History:
Within the realm a daughter must have the beauty of the moon to gain favour of the ancestors, to gain a wealthy husband and bore healthy sons. However, there shall always be a jewel who glistened to a different fate. To a scholar of grand prominence within the Longzhong commandery, this young girl had a destiny far bigger than her ancestors could foresee. Growing Huang took upon a nickname given to her by her father, like most girls, of Yueying. In the former period of her like, she enjoyed this delightful name with great pride simply because it was given to her by her father; how different it would be within the future to lose such a name as simply be addressed as 'Shi'...'Lady'...
Huang managed to gain an education, one that was rare for a girl but fortunately for her as an only child and, of course, the daughter of a wealthy scholar..education was secured. To the surprise of most, she progressed quickly and advanced beyond even the male counterparts of her classes; with joy her father thanked the Heavens..however..there was one problem. Who would marry a woman whose intelligence surpassed theirs by ten? It was inevitable, the fate of his daughter would be alone and hailed the poor woman whose knowledge was her downfall!
When nearing the coming of age, Huang had an ingenius idea and one that would disatisfy her father. Placing the veil upon her face, the appearance was hidden and made a mystery to men; thus propelling her intelligence into the fore and being praised by many. As planned it allowed Huang to feel something she never wished to give up; recognition. But, the days were numbered and marriage loomed on the horizon, to which she could see quite clearly. The husband to gain her heart would be no ordinary being, a man whose knowledge could match hers and one who would not wish to see beyond the veil..but beyond the mind. To her father she took, spreading the rumours of her appearance to be unattractive and something less than mediocre; how her father lamented in shame! Nonetheless, her request was fulfilled and all spoke of her plain appearance; father, mother, friends and even maids.
Circulating the words brought suitors to view if this mere gossip would be true fact; but, they did not foresee the trap she had placed before them. A severe and distinct examination of their very being would greet them, they were tested upon their mental abilities and intelligence..regularly all failed, flailed in infuriation and left the Huang estate cursing the day that a woman could out-maneuver them. However, from the darkness came a light so bright that even her father placed good faith in; it was a then dwindling scholar and humble farmer, of perhaps less than desirable worth. This beings was Zhuge Liang, by the style Kongming, who could answer each test and came to be the only successful candidate for marriage; thus, the Heavens rejoiced and Changyan gained the son-in-law he so desired.
As wife, her child nickname was removed and transformed her into 'Lady Huang' the wife of Zhuge Liang; something that would always leave a sour taste in the mouth. But, she could not speak and remained the faithful wife who obeyed the duties of the Matriarchal ancestors. Behiind the veil he saw, viewing that not only had he met a match of knowledge but the visage of a celestial nymph; the fortune from Heavens shined upon him, surely!.. A love was created through the many years spent studying togehter, their passion for inventions and machinations flourished to create clever devices to aid the Liege they served. This is where the ashes began... The seal of her husband was always placed to the ideas they created, many of her own were praised as Zhuge's; furthermore, he did not rebuke any words and simply accepted the devotion to work that she had spent many a night toiling over. The traditions were being manipulated, Huang spent less and less time with her husband, hoping that the distance would allow her name to be remembered and adored.
Indeed they had one son, Zhan, to whom gained all the love Huang had within her heart and the devoted mother would never wavor in her role. But to her husband, gave birth to dislike and resentment for the years of work stolen by him..the gratification that should have been hers was always his..but for no longer, the Phoenix would rise from the fires to consume not only him, but all that believed he was the sole intelligence....

- Never allows her son, Zhuge Zhan, to notice the dislike she has for his father and no other gains her love than her own son.
