Time was changing and the winds did not carry a very favourable breeze to the Kingdom of Shu, who were beginning to deminish as others grasped from left and right; all directions expansion was becoming fast and soon, what had been created under the Green banner would no doubt be devoured. However, this day was to change as the winds from the mountains grew in strength and brushed away the durt of the past and brought forth a figure of esteem. Finally, the mystery of this life was being unfolded to be viewed by all; many speculated that Liu Bei had given up faith, or even passed to the Nether Realm allowing no heir to revive the broken Kingdom. A Dragon was sturring in the distance, a line across the sky as the heart began to beat; indeed slow at first, but a beat no less..one that gained speed and no doubt the strength to lift it's head, allowing the fires of life to rise from the ashes...
From the paths from Xinye came a procession that beated the drums of the people, disturbing the peace of uncertain futures and bringing forth the curiosity of city dwellers. To many surprise, upon a white thoroughbred rode none other than the being gossip had spread; given faith! lost all recognition of his path! died an ashamed man whose future was bleak! Eyes like daggers upon the Castle of Yong'an, none could stur him from this trance like state..something had changed, the rising Dragon clawed its way through the earth with a certain persona of a Lord. Many nights had been spent studying the stars and consulting advisors who no doubt knew less than he, yet there were two others with him; loyal retainers of his desires. The two Mi brothers, two of the Merchant family riding alongside each other solidifying the group that they lead. It was rather a small force they were bringing into Yong'an but one that would begin the future of this Kingdom, a path worth being upon.
With astonished looks and rejoice the three, followed by a small show of military strength, entered the main complex to where the Council Chamber was positioned. Taking a breath the beacon was light and three took to their feet in order to reach the room; council was announced and all ministers rushed to hear the words of their born again Leader..the Dragon had arrived. Taking place upon the dais designed for his stature, Liu Bei gazed down to his pitiful council of men who were of arrive abilities; he needed more to make his expansion more concrete..to secure the foundations more personel was in need. Knelt to the right was Liu's political and military advisor, Mi Zhu, a man whose intellect was a rare jewel so precious it could not be simply dismissed. To the left knelt the leading Military general within Liu's knew army, the fledgling younger brother Mi Fang; indeed, many speculated over his military prowess but when combined with the knowledge of Zhu..they were a formidable team that will aid to shake this realm into their favour.
"For too long have we been bullied into a position that benefits others than ourselfs, no longer shall we be deemed as weak." Masterful tone, one that had a sense of annoyance to all he had come across that seemingly took advantage of his naturally good nature. "The Dragon has taken its slumber within the Mountains for far to long, it is time..time for it's ferocity to be seen." With a smile the eldest Mi brother, Zhu, nodded in agreement and rose from his position in order to speak out. Gazing to those present, Liu saw the movement of his advisor and could not help show a friendly smile to a being who had never wavoured from his companionship. "Master Liu, many view our Kingdom having its last breath, however.. I have devised a plan that could aid us and bring the downfall of a certain rival. " Intrigued, the Rising Dragon shuffled on his dais to hear such an idea..knowing that whatever was spoken would be of higher worth than what he could have thought of. "We shall ally ourselves in three directions. As you may know a new figure has taken residence in Hanzhong, he shall be our first; though of no repute as of yet he shall become useful when we must defend ourself from the North. To our gracious friends of Wu, our second; we have yet to become disliked by them and together can crush the forces of Wei. Alone, neither of us have the strength, but combined we shall become the wall." Another breath, Liu began to stroke the beard upon his chin as he took in each word of his advisor..this three way plan was coming together in his head and one that could seem very beneficial for the future of Shu...
"Finally, our third ally and an old acquaintance of yours; Yuan Shao. Famed for being quite arrogant and somewhat indecisive, he has the mettle to deliver a three-prongued attack upon Master Cao; no doubt this being will place his gaze upon the fields of Shu." A simple nod, the wheels were already put into motion and one that would no doubt be done quickly to provide a good stance for Shu. To Hanzhong Mi Fang would journey and attempt to secure an alliance with this unknown occupier of the fertile fields.. Next would be Mi Zhu's chance to place another friendship to Shu's advantage by visiting the Noble, Yuan Shao. However, Wu would be placed into the care of Liu himself as they were the closest threat and of course, showing in person would mean more than sending an envoy.
"We must not concerntrate solely on alliances, we must gain ground to solidify our existance. I propose we begin expansion as soon as a friendship with Wu has been established; the direction? To the South, to your kinsmen, Liu Biao." It was a subject all knew would be hard to swallow and more so for Liu, he knew what was going to be said..it was a devastating reality when he would turn onto a being from his family line, however distant. Within his nature he would refuse to even entertain the idea, but now was more important than ever that growth was done for Shu..they were becoming boxed in from all directions and needed an escape route; through Liu Biao and his prosperous lands... "Our Kinsmen Liu would not annex, nor give into us easily. However, do not allow this idea to rest General Mi, it is something close to heart and an inevitable future.. We must secure our alliances first, with Hanzhong and Wu in our favour then shall be the time to act." The General knew too well what his Master was thinking, as if Zhu would place a conflict to Fang.. Thought must be placed upon it and with the aid from the East and North would gain a more convincing argument, stronger than any other words could be.
The Council conluded, the drums beaten and preparations made.. The Three Way Scheme was set into motion and alliances dreamed of; for protection and attack. Hanzhong, Wu and Yuan Shao..with the contemplation of Liu Biao's destruction fresh in Liu's mind. The sword would finish one of them and he had no desires for it to be him first....
