Is anyone here a Pokéfreak? Well, even if not, does anyone play the series and is anticipating the DS remakes of the classic Gold and Silver instalments? I know it's not everyone's thing by far, but I still thought I'd ask. My own interest has dwindled since Pearl, and I only recently started seriously playing on it after three years since obtaining it. Personally I'm rather looking forward to purchasing SoulSilver and there's less than three weeks to go. Call me a total nerd if you like but I'm fine with that and accept it. Pokémon got me into gaming and I can't ever thank it enough for that. Dang, I just had a thought there. Most of the games I dig are repetitive button-mashers. Does that make me simple? Well, whatever. *cough*

I am! :3 Can't wait i've had every generation atleast one game from each if not all of them. And yes Gold and Silver were my first ones as a child and i can't wait.
I've loved pokemon from a young age and even with it getting the bit out of hand and quickly reaching the 500 mark with the species, i've completed pearl and platinum though and will still continue buying the games.
HeartGold for me, the pokemon appearing are far better i had silver for the gameboy though ;]. I will probaly be getting it on release day in the UK, have you seen the cool gadget that comes with it yet? haha.
And no it doesn't tekken and guitar hero own and they are button mashers ;]

Yay a fellow Pokéfan! Oh? That's sweet, same here I think, I didn't bother with Emerald or Platinum though. Gold/Silver were two of my personal faves also, Ruby/Sapphire being the close second. Yeah, there's just something so likeable about it isn't there? Maybe its the simplicity that you know will remain, or the sheer addictiveness of trying to catch 'em all. Hmm, I'll try my best to get it on the release day too but sometimes it's not possible. Stock can run out pretty quickly with games like that. Oh yeah, I think it's the Pokéwalker or something? It counts your steps and gives your Pokémon EXP, which is cool I guess if you want to train when out and about. I've only ever tried a demo of a Tekken game and I've never been near Guitar Hero, but it's good to know I'm not alone. Button mashers are often good. Tiring, but good.

I only had Ruby ;D loved it though haha. My youthful days of pokemonz. love it! I've never been one to catch them all, i'm normally the lazy trainer who just catches the rare ones are boasts a huge collection of the rarer high level pokemon and spend more time in the Pokemon centre selecting my team then completing the game :L haha. It is very addictive though, even the ding sound of leveling up. It rewards you with evolving your pokemon and learning new attacks which is always nice. Yeah the pokewalker looks sweet, i'm so going to abuse and just shake it all the time just to level up really fast haha. Be shaking it on the toliet to evolve all my pokemon prematurely. Tekken is amazing, played the earlier ones as a kid and got hooked Guitar Hero is a alot of fun too ;D Button mashers are lots of fun ;]

I think you have to be very lucky or know a lot of people to catch them all. Haha, yeah... youthful days. *sigh* They go by so quickly. I don't mourn mine too much, though. Yes, I'm quite lazy too when it comes to that goal. Who cares, as long as you have the team you want? Very addictive! Like you said, the sounds when levelling up is enough reward to make you want to do it again and again. I wish I could say the same there, but I think it has technology to prevent shaking from working. I will have to see if I can get any of the Tekken games then. The only other button masher I can think right now that I have is the DMC series, I dunno if you're into that..?

Curses. Foiled again! Devil may cry, loved it. Dante was pretty damn hot to be honest. Played one and two never got round to buying three and played the fourth demo. Just tactically spamming buttons, love it. Ha.. Technology sucks ;] was going to be even lazier tbh. ;[ I'm a levellin' and evolving addict tbh. I need to go into rehab for the amount of times i've levelled. Plus some pokemon are just dumb -.- nobody really wanted a Cleffa tbh or a Rotom or anything pathetic and stupid

Aww... well... maybe there's another way to fake walking? XD
Yessums, it's one of the classics methinks. By video game standards Dante is pretty hawt yes. I've finished all of them except the fourth one, which I've nearly done. Nero's arm is fun to fling around. You should TOTALLY get three if you ever see it! Four as well, but I wouldn't recommend it so much as I would the third.
Technology does have a way of sucking. Rehab? Aww, but.. the whole point of the game is enjoying it, and if that's what you do don't feel bad.
Some of them definitely are. Like.. Rattata. So common and yet barely useful. Cleffas can be okay-ish if you evolve them all thee way up to Clefable, because those are quite flexible moveset-wise. Rotom, hmm. Okay if you like legendaries.
Have you started planning your team out yet for HeartGold? I'm trying to figure out mine for SoulSilver, but there's so many choices. It's really hard. I miss the days when I didn't care so much and just picked ones I liked.

Will it boast if i run ;D If so one more reason to get fit haha. Yeah Dante is pretty hot :') haha. I love the idea of DMC though it was cool with all the demons popping up and having the choice of a sword or a gun to eliminate then. I'll see if i can pick it up cheap from somewhere and give it a play-through ;] True that :[ Yeah pokemon rehab. haha. Some pokemon are just useless though, Rotom looks pathetic and nobody is really going to use him because hes no match for legendaries :L Haha, well i have my Lvl 92 Alakazam who goes with me wherever i go :'] so i'm thinking.. Alakazam Swampert Salamence Umbreon Shiny Vileplume Skarmory ;D obviously with switch in and switch outs but that'll probaly be my elite four team

If you run you take more steps and more steps = more EXP so I'm sure that would be a good way to level up quickly. And as you said, to get more fit. Don't do too much running though. Too much is never good for you. The idea behind it is partially what makes it so cool. I mean come on, how often do you get guns and swords wielded together? The only other character I know video game wise who does that is Masamune Date. Which is extremely weird, considering his name. Dante and Date. XD Lol. Yes, you really should. Lemme know if you ever do! Aww Rotom haha. I won't slag it off too much, I've never used it and I've grown fonder of Ghost pokémon this year so.. it is part Ghost, part Electricity right? Omg level 92? That is hiiiigh. Won't it not obey you until you get the last Gym Badge? Otherwise, compliments to the team. Well obviously. XD

I am a fan of Pokemon as well, started i when i was very young with red version, loved the gen 2 games which i thought were great. Went off it for a while after that generation but when it comes down to it Pokemon is the only game on Nintendo that i actually like so ended up getting back into it. Currently playing threw platinum for the second time.
I am defiantly going to get these when they come out probably i will get soul silver and my brother will get heart gold. Then we can swap afterward so we will have tried both. Usually thats what we do and its works awesome.

Same here. The first generation, Blue, was what got me into Pokémon and the whole of gaming in general. Out of curiosity is any reason you went off it for a while..? Hmm you should try some other Nintendo games like the LoZ series and SSBB, those are worth playing. Yay well don't forget to mention if you do buy. It would be so neat if we could all friend each-other~ I don't have WiFi yet for my DS though so that's a problem.

Well i was always quite a big fan of the anime and that got boring is there Johto series, also at that point the card game was going strong and i really hated that. Since i had already completed silver a load of time i went of Pokemon for a while.
But i got into it again a bit more once they released there advance generation series in the anime which was much better, made me get the Sapphire version which was pretty decent.
Iv got wifi but not been able to work it with my Nintendo DS lol

Ooh, the anime. I never really saw any of that beyond some of the Kanto episodes. Never got involved in the card game either, only collected some of the cards but I've long since given up on that. I don't blame you for going off it though, it takes a lot of motivation to keep at it. It's good you got into Sapphire. I was just saying Ruby is one of my more liked games in the Pokémon series. That sucks. Maybe there's a guide online which will help you?

The anime really pretty good into its 12/13 season at the moment, some times a little repetitive but still cool.
Iv still not played ruby but my brother lent me his copy of emerald so i am playing that at the moment. So far it quite good they seem to have added a lot of new content with it.
Silver version is still for me probably the one is enjoyed the most so cant wait for the remake, i hope they have changed things around a little though just to keep it fresh.
Iv had a look at the guide that came with it and followed the instructions but it just never connected for some reason. Maybe i have to allow it or something on the computer.

That's enough to make me want to check it out, but I'm still not sure. Will it ruin my opinion of the games and how simple they are? The anime looks a lot more rounded on the fact they can actually do more than you ever can in the games. Stupid way to see it maybe but yeah...
Ruby isn't much different from Sapphire and Emerald is just the combined and improved version of both so you got the best deal there.
The Silver/Gold games were definitely the best, if only because of the vast amount you had to do. Once you thought it was over you could go to Kanto, which makes it the longest Pokémon game to date and I'm looking forward to seeing how awesome it will be now. I'm sure there will be a few surprises in there, because otherwise what's the point?
How peculiar. Maybe, I know devices won't work for me if my computer doesn't allow them.
