Perhaps a little bit i mean contests for exsample look so cool on the anime but are a let down on the game. Still other than that for me it does not ruin the games for me, adds to them in some way because it makes me wants to catch ones i might have otherwise thought where rubish on the games.

It took ages for me to even get my computer to allow the PS3 to use the internet, maybe the setting are just to security tight or something.

btw whats our ultimate pokemon team?

From what I've seen contests do appear more awe-inspiring in the anime but in the games, nope. I preferred them in Ruby/ Sapphire and don't care for them much in Pearl/Diamond. It doesn't matter too much to me though because contesting is never something I took seriously. You make a good point however, it does give other Pokémon not fit for actual combat another use. Which is nice.

Hmm that could be the cause. I wish I could help out more there but I've yet to get WiFi myself, so I'm helpless.

My ultimate team.. well, I have hard enough time deciding on teams as is, and since I've recently started to dislike legendaries that is a difficult question. Ermm, well all level 100s is necessary. What else.. *scratches head* I'll update you if I figure it out myself, haha. What about you? You have an ultimate team in mind?

It isn't hard, but a team full of Magikarps would be extremely weak.

Oo tasty. I've been thinking more and the only Pokémon I know I'd have in mine for sure would be Mismagius.

Ah i had a Mismagius on my last platinum game was pretty good i thought. Allthough prefer spirtomb since its immune to psychic attacks and not weak to dark or ghost. Also it can learn hypnosis and destinty bond that Mismagius cant. Ghost is probably the best type i think since it lacks raw power you need to use some stratagey to win.

The main reason I use Mismagius is because it learns Magical Leaf. Although it lacks STAB its high Special Attack makes up for it. I would use a Grass Pokémon but they have way too many weaknesses, and why bother when Magical Leaf is a perfectly good move?

Spiritomb.. hmm I've never used one, but their 100% immunity lack of a super-effective weakness is sweet. They aren't invincible though, Foresight can give them a weakness and that's all you need to take them out.

Ghost type is definitely one of the better types, don't know why I never used a Ghost Pokémon until Pearl. Silly me.

Magical leaf is only 60 power with no STAB thats to weak i think for a one hit KO even vs a water type. At least if your same level.

Spiritomb is weak to forsight but even then only to fighting moves. Of course by the time they have done forsight they will have a 70% chance of being asleep thanks to hypnosis then i just use dream eater and by by fighting type. Also who uses forsight i think thats only ever happened to me once before.

Ghost rocks nearly always have 1 ghost even since red version came out. Although i did not a conection cable so i was unable to evolve my hunter Although got to admit dragon type is amazing all great, although to many have double ice weakness.

Hmm, but if you make Mismagius hold a grass-boosting item like Miracle Seed it gives its power a nice boost. Oh well, even if it isn't the best it has worked for me so far and I can't find a better replacement.

True, true. I have to say I used it on the Elite Four Cynthia's Spiritomb. XD;;

Oh nice. ^-^ Aww, I hope you can get one now? Yes Dragon is one of the best types also, but like you said many Dragon Pokémon suffer from the terrible double (sometimes quadruple) ice weakness.

Ah i forgot you could give it a miracle seed. Even so i can think of a better idea, i give my spirtomb focus sash. So when they hit hard i still have 1HP. Since i know they will hit me again (spirtomb is slow so they will also be faster likely) i use destiny bond which goes first then when they hit me they get Ko'ed as well its brilliant.

Cynathia's sprirtomb has a rubbish move set so i bet. Last time i fought her i sent out my staraptor and use like 6 double teams since it could not hit me with anything lol all ghost or none attack moves i think.

Dragonite: dragon+ flying 400% weakness
Salamence: dragon+ flying 400% weakness
Altaria: dragon+ flying 400% weakness
Flygon: dragon+ ground 400% weakness
Garchomp: dragon+ ground 400% weakness

Unlesss you have a kingdra (which i love) your in for a rough time if someone has ice moves, which for exsample nearly all water types can learn.

Yessum. I'm sure there are better Grass-boosters out there, but that one was the most accessible so that's what I did. And what might that be? XD And that sounds cool, I'm tempted to get one now but I won't copy you. ;P

Yeah, most of the AI when you think about it is not so good. Which isn't a problem for me, personally. I'd rather it be easy or a mild challenge than gruelling. That's what online is for I guess. Another reason I don't have it, haha.

I'm still going to use Dragonite for SoulSilver I think. As long as it's kept away from other Dragons and Pokémon with Ice moves it should be safe. I've been screwed over by Ice moves before and will not let that happen again. Stupid Ice is given too much power.

I'm glad to hear they're good because I'm going to try one as my water Pokémon in SoulSilver. I just spent a few hours farming for a Dragonscale this afternoon... found one eventually.

Give it power herb. It's an only use once item(so only use it batter tower so you never lose it). It lets you use a move like solar beam without any charge up. If Mismagius can learn solarbeam, most thing can lol. Might need platinum to get the item not sure.

Thats one of the better things about platinum version. You find all those annoying items like dragon scale and all the other hold items to evolve Pokemon just on the ground. Saves a hell of a lot of times, last time i had to fish for my dragon scale as well took a whole hour.

I agree it's nice that the game is only semi challenging it means you can even beat the elite 4 with weaker Pokemon and don't just have to use only powerful one. Of course even some of the weak ones can have nice moves that make up for it. Of course i don't think i would use them online when/if i get it working.

My Brother nearly always gets a dragonite too, i just prefer salamence, high speed means it can beat other dragons.
