Smith let out a huge yawn. "God this is boring when is there going to be some action" Smith looked behind him to see his men starting to slow down, they were starting to get cold the further they went into the mountains. "Hey Men get into a really tight formation. The closer you guys are the warmer you will be." As soon as Smith said this the men quickly squashed together to keep warm. Looking ahead Smith could barley see Hunter with the archers. Before the battle the archers threw white cloaks on as well as Hunter so they could blend in with the snow. "Smart tactic my friend" Smith thought to himself.
Hunter looking around could not see much enemy activity. The archers were in a open formation staying close to the sides, hunched down to try and blend in with the snow. The white cloaks were a great idea Hunter thought to himself. He moved his hand in chopping motion and the archers armed themselves with their bows ready for action.

Wei Yan stepped over to the group of clustered workers as they stood to momentarily admire their own quick work of siege weapons. The foreign warrior himself pushed several side to make way for him to walk over to and look at the results of several hours' work. The collection itself took up a large amount of space within the rather tight supply base, but it was still not as much as he had expected. Five ladders and a single siege ram? No, it just wouldn't do. It was only a matter of minutes before all of the thin wooden structures were pushed down or cracked open, and the ram would be soon to follow.
No, they needed more.
A low growl emanated from the deepest parts of Wei Yan's throat as he stared menacingly at his workers through the two sharp eyeholes of his mask. Is that the best that they could do? Was the time not enough? Was the threat of death knocking at their doors not enough? Was the fierce figure of Wei Yan and his command not enough to yield a better produce than this pesky group of wooden poles and simple child's play? His hands clenched into fists. Maybe he had had a part in this lack of skill in his men after all, his lack of training his own soldiers. Very well, he would give the squad a bit more time.
"More... Siege... ramps... Ladders..."
With the four words of strict command, Wei Yan turned and marched away from the workers for now, alone, leaving his large, heavy footprints in the layer of cold white snow behind.

Of course, this preparation process for the required siege weapons would take time, several more hours at the least. But maybe the wait provided him with a better chance, after all. It would obviously yield more product than what he had in hand now, and at the same moment that his workers were ramming on wood and steel, his headstrong allies would be trying to bash straight into Hu Lao Gate. Sure, some would be organized enough to make a drop-by visit to the other bases, but to think of it, the majority were more of the ignorant type.
Some would act as meat bags as they crumble layer after layer at Hu Lao. But they would still serve a purpose, as though they may suffer heavy losses, Hu Lao won't be without casualties. The weak make way for the strong, it was just the natural way of how things worked. Though it was also possible that it was just silent and unstirring over there at Hu Lao, on the other hand; that was, if the coalition turned out to be formed of a bunch of unmoving cowards, poking at each other slowly as they tried to push the other man out into the forward battlefield.
Of course, there was the bypassing mountain path. Ha, that was just an open trap, just short of a sign that read "Enemy Ambush 10 Feet Ahead." Of course those who held the land would have positioned their troops within and around the mountain pass. Unless they were complete idiots after all and were simply an overestimated force.
Wei Yan looked up at Si Shui Gate once more, more of a closer view at the tall walls.
"Fall..."

"Very Good" Smith thought to himself after watching Hunter take out the scout with ease. Smith gathered all of his troops over to the dead bodies of the Zhuo army. [Hunter:]"Zhang Smith the scouts came from that direction. Smith looked down the direction that hunter pointed towards. "Well You can all asume more of them will be coming when they find out the scouts are not coming back. We will be ready for them. Men follow this path. Smiths troops got into a tight formation, and continued their advance in the direction the scouts were coming from. 100 Spearmen gathered in front into two rows. With swordsmen beside them 150 each. 100 Archers gathered behind the spearmen. At the back were the Cavalry with Zhang Smith and the messangers.

A dark smile ran across Lu Xiang's face as his cousin appeared, the huge man; with a reputation than nothing more than a ravenous savage beast - rightly deserved Lu Xiang would like to add. Every beast had it's weakness, Lu Xiang was the hunter. Looking the cruel monster in the eyes. A strong feud between the two had been lit from a young age. Lu Xiang the younger of the two was frequently beaten up by his Cousin Bu; pushed down and mocked. A fierce hatred reeked for the death of this man but also a seratonin; removing this man would lay Lu Xiang's ego and revenge to rest. He could not be trusted, not even by his own kin. He stroked he face gently as the arrows were pointed towards him - He laughed again; loud and heartily.
Ha. ha. ha. ha.
"A warm welcome cousin, I would expect no less from you."
He said before extending his hand; thrusting it forward with an immence force before twisting his pole-arm around; teasing the opponent for a while. Naturally waltzing around slowly like he didn't really care. Lu Bu talked a good game, but there was no motive within their army other than personal gain. At least a tiny drop of virtue remained with the ranks of the coalition. He stuided his options, and then his foes for a few seconds - in complete silence. The steel hooves remaining stury; cobbling against the hard stone beneath the snow.
"The great warrior upon Red Hare refuses to fight on horseback? How very disapointing.. and to think I was expecting a challenge."
Lu Xiang laughs, trampling around a bit more left and right cleaving his pole-arm a little more. His tall body wrapped in chain mail and a tough leather jerkin. He didn't trust his cousin anymore than his cousin trusted him. However he needed closure, it was time to bury the hatchet; preferably in his cousins head. On atleast put the dog down on his knees where he truly belonged.
"If you cannot fight me like a real man, upon horse-back then please do send forth one of your generals to do your dirty work. Cousin!"
Lu Xiang said, before swooping the pole-arm. He didn't care who he had to smash down. But Lu Bu's terms were unacceptable. Lu Xiang was fighting on the enemy ground, against a legendary foe even if he did beat him would still be on dangerous ground. As tempting as it was too kick his teeth in and give him a lesson in the blade, he wasn't a fool.
"Come forth, any brave enough to cleave the hero who disrupts Hu Lao Gate.. or lest the Gods blight him who cowers behind these walls!"
Lu Xiang roared, let the arrows come. He would rather die a hero; then die a coward. He stared the enemy in the face, the crossbow men, the archers, the generals upon the wall.

Zhi looked straight at the mountain pass, expecting to see his scouts return. It was taking a lot longer than he thought it would. Was it possible that they were killed by the enemy? It was time to find out, the time for waiting was over. Now was the time to act!"Okay men, we have waited long enough, we shall move to the mountain pass! Be cautious, the enemy might already be up there, ready to strike anybody that comes their way!! We shall move up to the seige base that is beside Si Shui Gate. Let's go men, ride!"Zhi kicked his horse to move foward, the horse began to run up the pass, which would slow their movement, but it would also slow the enemy as well. He just hoped he could get to the seige base before they were attacked, or before the enemy took the base.

--------------------------------------------------- And the lone mercenary received his order from his employer, the Japanese giving Yuan Shao a soft nod, before taking a step back and thus taking his leave. He turned on the heels of his boots as he walked off, the letter in hand as he allowed himself to indulge in his memory of the Xiang in question. The mysterious cloaked man. Oh, did his presence send an eerie exciting chill down Hiei's spine. And add that to that large Lu Xiang's aura, it seemed that the two were really down with something. Something big and dangerous. Something that Hiei knew he would definitely have fun in.
It was not long before the resourceful and quick-footed mercenary found Xiang Yu, the Japanese swerving through his troops on horseback, an averagely-built black stallion with red reigns, Hiei's own personal horse, a gift from his lord. And as soon as he was of Xiang Yu's earshot, he would speak out.
"Lord Xiang Yu, I bring a message from Lord Yuan Shao."
And that was all he needed to say, the young man tilting his head as he reached forward with his right hand towards the mysterious individual, the letter in between his fingers, its condition as it was when Yuan Shao gave it to him. Ahead, in the distance, Hiei had noticed the many troops of the coalition army moving, some particularly towards the gate. He furrowed his eyebrows, a silent gesture that he wanted to be there. In the frontlines.
He wondered what Yuan Shao had in mind for him, using him to send a message like this. Why not use a normal messenger? Well, of course Hiei knew why. He was involved in whatever plan that man had cracked up. And this Xiang Yu beside him was involved too. His body gave a soft shiver. He simply could not wait to be in battle.

Before Nohime continued, she suddenly remembered a certain someone that was on their side. Wei Yan, the unafilliated barbarian. She would certainly gain high marks in Wu if she was able to convince him to join their kingdom. In a rush, Nohime wrote down a note, then handed it to a cavalryman. She looked him square in the eye. "That letter is to go to Wei Yan. I believe he is somewhere down the path where Zhang Smith has gone. Deliver this letter to Wei Yan and no one else, is that understood?" The soldier nodded and bowed to her, and with a wave of her hand, she sent him, along with four swordsmen, to Wei Yan in hopes to convince him to ally himself with Wu.
She then continued onward to the seige base just to the East. She encountered a few straggler scouts that seemed to be utterly demoralized. She didn't even bother to kill them...she simply set her troops on them. There couldn't have been many left, in all honesty. She rode quickly, but still made sure her troops were fully alert for any sort of enemy that would happen to come across them. She was ready for some more action. She was getting closer to the base. She just knew she was going to succeed in this...she had to! === Nohime has sent a message to Wei Yan ((check your pm box, Tai)) Nohime and her troops are advancing upon the mountain eastern seige base and are keeping an eye out for enemy troops. ((I hope that was okay to do...if not, I can change my post according to moderator/admin suggestions))

Post by Yuan Shu on Sept 6, 2010 6:12:35 GMT
Yuan Shu thought to himself as he walked, slowly, towards the linear path that lay ahead.
"We may be allied with each other, but we are certainly not presenting a united front; This strategy will not work..."
He sighed with this as they make way onto the road, where Shu thought Nohime had began down as well.
He looked to Ji Ling riding beside him and his troops fast behind, as he knew a majority would be dead at the end of this siege. For the better, of course, but irritable nonetheless.
"How much further?!" Shu asked, already getting bored by all of this.
"Possibly a while more, I am unsure, my lord. I sent a few scouts out much earlier but they have not returned." Ji said.
With this, Yuan Shu presented an annoyed look and turned to look forward again.
He wondered how his "allies" were doing in their ventures, and if any of them have gotten themselves killed yet. Ha ha.
"The day shall be glorious, Ji Ling. We shall return victorious and with the head of Dong Zhuo!"
Gonglu rallied a loud war-cry, as he kicked his horse from its trotting gait and sped forward, further onto the unknown road.
Ji Ling followed close behind and the troops not close behind also.
This would be a great day for Yuan Shu... and the Han, of course.

Tsuki continued along side Kaihime, slaughtering scouts as they went. Tsuki enjoyed this sudden flood of blood, it drove her senses wild as the concept of killing people ran through her mind. She let out a high pitch shrieking laugh as she continued along on track, her sights set upon the base. "Destroy! DESTROY!" She howled causing some of the men that followed her to think twice about Rui's decision to have such a woman on their team.

Lu Ling Qi urgently hurried to her father's side, surprised and worried at his sudden appearance. Lu Bu and Lu Xiang sat atop their horses opposite of each other. The enemy commander, Lu Xiang, refused to demount, obviously, he would die for certain if he did. But then, here was the perfect opportunity now to kill him. Honor or no honor. Lu Ling Qi was suffice with just being the opportunist. And thought she did not know what had transpired between her father and her cousin, whatever it was perhaps constituted an execution on sight.
"Father I implore you!" Lu Ling Qi called as she drew nearer, her white charger stopping alongside Red Hare, yet she looked immensely smaller and much more fragile compared to her father on horseback.
She pointed her katar to Lu Xiang, but deliberately avoiding his gaze. "Kill the black sheep of our family, and in doing so ensure that the coalition fails today!" She pleaded with her father, and if he didn't signal the archers, Lu Ling Qi just might.

[Lu Bu]
Lu Bu sighed and continued to look down upon his depth cousin. Didn't he say that he was gonna play by his rules? So why is he insisting his way? Well he'll have to be taught the consequences of his actions. Lu Bu was about to respond to Lu Xiang's demands before he was interrupted by his offspring. "Be quiet young one and believe in my decision making. If he is insisting on his demands in a place where I make them; he'll wish he never even opened his big mouth." Lu Bu calmly assured his offspring that he won't let Lu Xiang go unpunished for his foolishness.
Turning his attention back to Lu Xiang he cleared his voice. "I'm disappointed in you cousin! I thought all of my relatives knew that I'm much more skilled on foot than on Horseback. Will you still insist to denying yourself a true challenge? I just thought that you would have wanted to kill me when I'm at my best to give yourself the most satisfaction. Isn't battle all about having fun and testing your skills against the most challenging opponents under the most challenging circumstances. I am truly disappointed in you and to think I still considered you a fierce relative of mine that I could've be proud to have. The true coward here is you Lu Xiang and everyone here sees that." Lu Bu shook his head at Lu Xiang and glanced at the many Crossbows and Bows that were pointed at his cowardly cousin. He wished that he wouldn't have to turn to such boring methods of killing. The only good kind of kill is the one you make yourself.
[Ryu Yin]
Ryu wanted to lay down. Preparations were about complete and Wei Yan had yet finished. Ryu was ready to welcome him and his army. He hoped those siege weapons Wei Yan was making would be enough to siege the Main Camp. He was gonna have to fight a whole bunch of Soldiers that had received Imperial Training. Ryu took another look at the letter he had received from Wei Yan before the battle. All thanks to this letter he was going to be able to take over the Mercenary Force and then be famous for his soon to be feats on the battlefield. "Hurry up with the preparations our guests will be arriving soon!" Ryu yelled out to the Peasant Militia that were working hard to appease their commander since their former leader is nowhere to be seen and probably fled the battlefield.

Liao was tired of just staying at his post he decided that he had to take action and soon, but were there were so many options and he wanted to give the enemy hell.
He decided that he would charge past Zhi Fang and go up the mountain pass. He went to each of his troops telling them to prepare for battle. After which he got on his white stallion and told the troops to march.
After a while he saw Zhi Fang's troops take off and knew that something was wrong. So he picked 4 Cavalry, 2 for each direction, to go see what was up ahead. He told his troops to relax but to not let their guard down will the scouts are out.
summary: stationed at the the mountain pass. sent scouts on horse to see what is up ahead. Troops are relaxing but are keeping eyes open for enemy troops
